Time marches on. Still, can't escape the fear we'll be listening to two uber-narcissists for the price of one and air time will invariably be as much about them as the game.

I don't even watch it anymore, but I can tell you he's not nearly as good as Ron MacLean. I'm not really sure what they were thinking, but if it aint broke don't fix it.
I think they were trying to attract a younger demographic.
I just watch the hockey and Coach's Corner. Don't bother with al the rest of the fluff.

I think Stombodullass looks ridiculous in his skinny pants and undersized jackets.
Somebody should tell him he's not 17 anymore, not that it doesn't look ridiculous on them either.
What is it though. The Hood wannabes wear shit that is 5 sizes too large and the suit guys are trying to climb into shit 3 sizes too small.
What has happened to a well fitted suit?
I'm far from the age and size where the new look is appropriate and they tried to get me into that shit to. I walked, their loss.
If it wasn't for Don and Ron I wouldn't watch at all.

I've played hockey with Marek in various leagues and tournaments over the years. I spent at good amount of time playing hockey and hanging out with him in Peterborough one weekend a few years ago. The Petes were practicing before one of our games and I have to say I was amazed at the amount of knowledge he had on the players. He was a walking Wikipedia and his knowledge was certainly not limited to the Petes or OHL players. He's also a half descent player himself.
I don't care if you don't like him but he is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to the hockey world.
I'm with you on this, it looks like he out grew his clothes!! Just another reason not to watch them. Turn off the game when intermission comes along.
Yes but not because he's on his way out or anything. He's not on Sundays. Rumour has it that he flies into town on Thursdays and is gone back to LA on Sunday mornings. Great gig if you can get it: a whack of cash for two days work, then back to his true passion the rest of the time. Problem for the rest of us is that we're stuck with a music journalist as the main hockey host.
That remains to be seen.
At least by making the playoffs, this is a possibility.

My wife and I were were saying the same thing and it's not just Strombo. They're all wearing suits that look like they're a couple sizes too small? Is this the current trend or is it just these yahoos? They really do look ridiculous.
One thing for sure, Strombo ain't no Ron MacLean.
I think I'll ask my friend's kids who are in their early 20's, play hockey and follow the NHL what they think of Strombo vs. MacLean. After all, wasn't replacing him to go after a younger demographic?
