I was in the Waikiki area where there are tons of hotels literally a stone's throw from each other. Just hang out in the streets after 10 and you will see hookers, some might be hard to notice at first.
It will be expensive since this is a tourist place. I'd say try to find some local papers and maybe try your luck with the tourist civvies.

Nothing hard about noticing a women walking around propositioning men.Yes I have been their, and seems like they hit on asian men and ignore everyone else.
I think cruising the street is a good way for the cops to hand you your balls on a platter. US cops are more into stings I've heard, although Grace Park from 50 might be worth it.
