I have a few hundred email addys attached to an email sent to me. Is there a way to import these addresses to my hotmail address book without manually typing them in individually? I've tried to copy and paste but no luck ?

Simple.......

Step 1. Copy and Paste them email addresses by selecting them

Select (ctrl-c) for copy, open notepad and type ctrl-v

Step 2. With notepad open you will have something that looks like this
tom@test.com;john@test.com;dave@test.com

Step 3. Ctrl-F (Find Feature) type ;

Notepad will highlight the first ; (simply press return) the ; will be replaced with a carriage-return
Press F3 (function key 3) to repeat the search then press return

You will end up with a list that looks like this.

tom@test.com
john@test.com
dave@test.com

Step 4: Select -All (ctrl-A)

Step 5. Open excel and paste it in ctrl V

Under Column A you will see something like

tom@test.com
john@test.com
dave@test.com

Insert A row at the top and two columns at the left
... a ............. b.............. c
1
2 .................. ................. tom@test.com
3 .................. ................. john@test.com
4 .................. ................. dave@test.com

Step 6.

Make the spreadsheet look like this now

Row 1 must be spelled EXACTLY!!!!

... a ............. b.............. c
1
2 ...TOM........... ................. tom@test.com
3 .. John ...... .Smith............ john@test.com
4 ...Dave........... ................. dave@test.com

If you dont know First or Last name you can leave them blank

Step 7
Save the File as CSV

CLOSE EXCEL!!! << Important

Step 8
Open Hotmail Account
Choose Contacts
Choose Manage

Browse for the location of the file you just saved in the previous step

Jeckyl, can't he simply forward the email to his Outlook/Outlook Express, and after he receives it, then point your cursor to each email addy and right click, and add to your address book? (I'm assuming that his emails are set to read in HTML format).
He wants them in HOTMAIL not in Outlook...
Secondly ... He has a few-hundred... thats a lot of right-mouse-button-click and add to address book.
But you are definitely correct....

Another legitimate way to do it.. I suspect it would be considerably longer but less complicated

1 Forward Hotmail email with hundreds of addresses to Outlook Mail
2 Add each address to outlook
3 Export Outlook/Express as a CSV file
4 Import into Hotmail

He would have ALL of his email accounts - not like able to filter out just the newly added ones... but maybe..
