Cover it at night. Let it breath during the day for short periods of time if you aren't doing calls and not wearing clothes over the knee. Apply poly (or whatever) 3 times a day as recommended. When it scabs over apply the Vitamin "E" cream the other guys recommend. (Don't pick scab.)LeeyahBabee said:I'm losted now...
so I shouldnt cover it? or should i cover it?
some ppl are saying "cover it you want to dry out" and some are saying "dont cover it let it dry" hmmm...

thats sounds really interesting I'll check that out for surerick dickulous said:Go to the health food store and get some powdered goldenseal. Goldenseal is a plant that they grind up into a greenish gold powder, you will only need a gram or so. Apply the powder directly to the wound, it will heal faster than you ever thought possible. Big drug companies don't want you to know about goldenseal, try it and you will be amazed.
silicone base called telfa dressing, which is a not stick dressingEast York Melissa said:TRX mentioned jelonet if you want to keep the wound covered and it is a really good idea. It will keep the wound moist while covered. Maya there is a polysporin cream you can use. If you are really worried about scarring the drugstore at Sunnybrook hospital carries something that will really help. I had to have surgery on my arm and it really helped. I forget what it's called but it's a silicone based sheet that you cut to size to fit your wound and will really reduce scarring if you end up with any. The products you can buy in the drugstore don't compare to it.
OH, I SO like the idea of vitamin E taken internally, I bet this thread is FULL of volunteers to provide you with all the Vitamin E you want free of charge......Miss Maya Blue said:....

I would suggest that - if you sincerely want to maximize your chances of having as small a scar as possible - you might want to refrain from playing until it's had a chance to heal up a fair bit. Every time you tear that scab open you likely increase the scarring.LeeyahBabee said:but the knee is a really crap place to get a cut, i play soccer too, i dont know how im going to keep this thing closed...lol
LeeyahBabee said:yes thats what i was thinking the cut is like, this may sound gross but it is cut side ways so if i really wanted i could put it open like a book eeekkk...
I put tiny Band-Aids on it for now holding the cut together until i can get to the drug store and buy the thing you speak of...lol
