I think Mahatma Gandhi almost made an exception to this. Goat milk which he didn'tbeing vegan is a good way to lower your testosterone levels
Until now I suspect she has been a vegan for only a short while like one year.Eliza Dushku kind of looks healthy. She's a vegan
In a new study confirming the heart-healthy benefits of a plant-based diet, researchers found that vegetarians are 32 percent less likely to die or be hospitalized because of heart disease.
The findings, which are published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, show that vegetarianism's positive effects on the heart largely lie with its cholesterol- and blood pressure-lowering abilities.
"The results clearly show that the risk of heart disease in vegetarians is about a third lower than in comparable non-vegetarians," study researcher Tim Key, deputy director of the Cancer Epidemiology Unit at the University of Oxford, said in a statement.
The study included 45,000 people from England and Scotland who were part of the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (EPIC)-Oxford study. Of those people, about 34 percent were vegetarian. They all had their blood pressure taken and blood samples drawn to measure cholesterol levels for the study.
The participants began the study in the 90s and were tracked until 2009; by that time, 1,235 had developed heart disease. Of those people, 1,066 people were hospitalized for heart disease, while 169 people died from heart disease.
After taking into account outside factors like age, exercise, socioeconomic background, smoking status, alcohol consumption and education level, researchers found that vegetarians had a 32 percent lower risk of being hospitalized or dying from heart disease over the study period.
AGREED,...just what the hell is does,... comparable non-vegetarians," mean ?"The results clearly show that the risk of heart disease in vegetarians is
about a third lower than in comparable non-vegetarians,"
If non-vegetarians comparable to vegetararians are those who eat healthily
(which means low sodium, low fat and sugar and a variety of veggies and fruits)
I highly doubt the veracity of this report. In fact vegetarian diets that include fish, egg
and dairy products are pretty much what many health-conscious non-vegetarians eat.
I have to agree, but calling the stuff sold here as wheat is an insult to the heirloom wheat that mother nature had created for us to eat. Men modified it so much to get better profits and more resistive to assorted pests that they made it a low grade poison.honestly, when a guy discloses he is a vegan to me he is no longer dating material in my eyes.
too many times have i seen my vegan friends get hangry. thats hungry and angry. hangry happens too often when hanging around with vegans cause there is nothing sufficient available to eat, so they opt not to eat altogether. plus sharing food is too dear to my heart.
i eat pretty paleo, with a few cheats here and there and i have never felt better in my life. it's the diet my nutrition teacher at school recommends too (chinese medicine's perspective) cutting wheat out of my diet was key to feeling better and made the most marked improvement to energy levels.
thats your version of healthy. marathon runners look sick to me, weak and sick. My version of healthy would be a natural bodybuilder with 10% bodyfat, or a sprinter. marathon runners have to be the lowest on my list no offense lol. This is meaningless 'advice'. Ancestors from 100 years ago? 1000? 10,000?!, and it's practically impossible, ignores recent knowledge on nutrition and health, and does not account for the change (decline) in activity level, or modern agriculture, or livestock practices, etc.
Ever watch the show on TVO called Edwardian Farm? Their whole life, from sunup to sundown (and later) is devoted to farm work - making enough food to survive and a bit extra to sell or trade for the produce they can't grow on their own. That's not a sustainable ancestral diet and not even healthy really, people had to be incredibly lucky to survive into their 60s.
Vegans are unhealthy?! The most unhealthy people are the ones who eat everything. One of the saddest sights I see on a daily basis is a fat, pear-shaped parent in their 30s with teenage kids who have the same middle-aged spread.
These children are condemned to life as spectators: sitting at school, sitting in a car, sitting at home in front of a tv or computer. They will never have the fun of running or hiking or so many other activities because they and their parents are thoughtless omnivores.

Years ago, I started to cut out meat from my diet and found the less of it I ate, the better I felt so eventually I stopped entirely, and am healthier than ever before. Now in my 50s and each summer do some 10K charity runs, half marathons, and a few triathlons.
And better yields, and better able to grow in marginal climates. Without the new strains of wheat, half the world would be starving.I have to agree, but calling the stuff sold here as wheat is an insult to the heirloom wheat that mother nature had created for us to eat. Men modified it so much to get better profits and more resistive to assorted pests that they made it a low grade poison.
Presumably not a swallowerYup, I happen to know one vegan SP and she sure looks darn healthy to me!
