How does one switch to Mozilla/FireFox?

Ive been using IE as a customer of Sympatico for the last two years. Im getting tired of all the popups and spyware/adware that goes with it. I get it cleaned and have protection but it always slips through and screws with my computer. Ive read a bit about Mozilla and FireFox here and was wondering if I can switch IP's and stay with Sympatico and if so how would i go about it. Thanks in advance for any info.

Well Firefox has alot going for it and ALOT against it. But it's just a browser. If you want to try it, just download it. I would also suggest trying Opera too. With Firefox you will miss all of the fun signatures like Goobers.

You still connect to the Inet as normal and then launch Firefox / Opera to surf. If you use a bookmark from IE to launch the connection, cut / paste it into any browser.

I'm on Rogers and they modifiy IE so bad I can't stand it! Trying Opera just now and some of the sigs are outragous!

You dont have to switch anyting.
Simply download firefox for free and start using it.

When done downloading just create a desktop icon, click it and you're then using firefox.

Yes, it's easy to download and you don't need to get rid of IE. A few sites don't work with Foxfire, so you can run either one or both of them.
There are some additional features you can download to customize your browser to your liking.

really? i have been using it for months and i can't seem to be able to miss all those sig's. they all show up. is there a trick to it?

Opera & Firefox

Just download them, they are all free, and use them.
I use 3 browsers, Opera, Firefox and IE in that order....been doing that for years now.
Opera @ www.Opera.com is my fav, it's so porn friendly. Just got the 8.5 version of Opera and it got rid of that banner ad so you have more content on the pages.
I only use IE as a last resort and very seldom lately.

I just downloaded Opera and im surfing through here now. Seems good so far. Now will i have a whole different history and cookies section to clear from here? gotta get rid of my habits ya know..lol. Thanks again guys.

Yep you will have a different section for history & cookies.

At the top hit the 'tools' tab and you will get dropdown tabs to history.

You can also go to preferences and set them to whatever you like.

I had the "only from originating site" checked, but that's cleared now.

you can choose mozilla for your default browser
your fav sites can be transferred from IE, mozilla calls them bookmarks
