Moore: We need to shut down the economy because our hospitals are forecasting UN-sustainable occupancy
Ford: What do you mean?
Moore: Our hospitals will not be able to manage the foretasted patient attendance and ICU attendance

You can't increase the supply of doctors or nurses by much in 2 years. It takes time for them to get trained up. Also you need the capacity to train them.
We are not talking street corner drug dealers here where any mother's son will do.

2 years! This is year number three. Please point me to the provincial or federal new policies that would address the problems in our healthcare system like hallway medicine , shortage of urgent care beds, wait times, etc. None are covid related, all are going back at least 30 years. Yet, even in a crisis not much, more like nothing has been done. BTW, SARS was the big wake up call, reports and post mortem has been done, yet they failed to even read them for the most part. This is the big lie of covid- the attempt to cover up the institutional impotence and inertia in our vaunted "free" healthcare system. I'd say the main aim of our government and the "science table" is to protect the ER from being overwhelmed and the incompetence from being exposed.
If only we knew Omicron, the next variant, would be 10%-20% more transmissible than Delta, we could've been prepared. But nobody knew this was coming and hospital staffing is already stretched super thin. So to answer the question, the lockdowns will continue until we have a handle on hospitalizations and ICU admissions. Wait for the spike in cases from NYE celebrations.
You have 85% protection against hospitalization and 95% protection against being sent to the ICU if you're double vaxxed. Thankfully the unvaccinated make up just 15%-20% of the population, but they'll once again be the majority who'll be using up hospital resources. Now go ahead, clap your hands. It's your right to refuse the vaccine and prolong these lockdowns.
