If you're using a Chrome based browser, install the plugin called Reverse Image Search. It installs in your right click menu and will search Google, Bing, Yandex and Tineye for the image you clicked on. A large percentage of those who advertise on LeoList use fake pictures. Just take a moment and double check as part of your due diligence before attempting to book them.

There used to be an indy market. It was difficult to find good indy on such site but they were some. Covid killed it all.
And it's not just about pictures. Good escort that like what they do and really want to make good bucks delivering good services will not advertise anymore on LL.

I find the "verified" status borderline useless. You have to reverse image search every photo, google the phone number and search review boards for the name used and/or phone number's last 4 digits.
Even if you do not find evidence of fraud, it may still be a poor experience. Could just be that they are legit and been around a while, but just provide poor service and people don't leave or post bad reviews.
I would guestimate 95% of the ads on LL are lying in some way. E.g. lady is 10+ years older, 20+ pounds heavier or just misrepresenting herself in general. Then there are the upsellers and out and out scammers.
I don't use LL. I'm fortunate enough that Toronto is only a 75 minute drive for me and I book from reliable agencies. If I lived in Ottawa, I would have my fun in Montreal.

As you can see from reading this thread, it doesn't really matter if the ad is verified or not. There are reputable providers with unverified ads and there are shitty providers or scammers with verified ads. Just do your research, look through review and 411 threads on here and check to see if ad links are still active. You've gotta connect the dots and figure it out. I don't mean that in a rude way, this is simply a hobby/industry that you have to put the legwork in if you want to have a good time. Learn to tell the difference between real and fake ads regardless of whether they're verified or not. This is mainly if you want to use LL, list crawler, Locanto, or other classifieds sites.
Or if you don't want to do all that you can go to agencies in Toronto or see all the wonderful ladies who advertise here on terb.

All it means is that the picture includes something in it that shows that it hasn't just been copied from somewhere else. A girl holding a sign with her name and date on it is a picture that is probably of someone real, not just a picture lifted off the internet. But... it still is not necessarily the same person, could be a friend, or even photoshopped if the person doing it is good at that. And says nothing about anything else such as services etc.
I think its a good idea to check if they have been reviewed here. Most of the time the reviews have given me good info. I've seen some reviews on here after I have seen a provider and wished I had checked beforehand
