I don't really think that's necessary to change your pants every day, since they are not absorbing sweat like your shirt. Washing them so often will just wear them sooner, costing money and time to clean them.

I usually wear a pair of jeans for a week. Is this normal? What do most people do?

I change complete outfits every day unless forced by unforeseen circumstances. That means shirt, pants, socks, underwear, jacket etc... and most important, shoes. They last much longer that way and I feel better doing so.

I thought you had to be either less than 10 years old or greater than 60 before a man decides its possible to wear the same pants for a week.

Sweet lawd..

...and some of you guys BLAME WOMEN for why you can't get laid.

Son...you should bathe / shower everyday. Change clothes everyday. All of them.

Now...if your REAL question was how many times will I wear a pair of jeans for before washing them, I will admit to 2 or 3 times. But I will never wear them two days in a row, unless it totally cannot be avoided...they need a day to air out, if you will.

I think we have been bunch of stinkers towards stinky.
We should applaud the fact that he wanted to find the solution to his stink problems by polling his fellow members.
With the vital information from the poll, and the collective wisdom of terbites , his life will be transformed, and the people around him can breath easily.
Congratulations stinkynuts for your courage, you have come out this smelling like roses.

We have some compulsive clean freaks on here, I remember one guy talking about showering up to 5 times a day.

Underwear and socks, sure I only wear them once.
Washing shirts or jeans after one wearing is excessive unless they are visibly dirty. I hang them up to air out a bit, I usually get a couple of wearings before I wash them again.

I'll change outfits daily, but just for variety.

I change everyday, though I don't wash my clothes everyday. Sometimes clothes can be worn 2-3x's before a washing. I usually spread it out over 1x per week. If I don't have enough variety of up to date clothes to only wear 1x per week, it's my sign to go shopping.

Now, my grandfather whom was a farmer is another story... and my father even had his favorite worked in pair of jeans that he'd wear 4x's per week... i'm not sure if it was laziness, but he claimed that he didn't find the crisp washer fresh feel too comfortable. he'd actually hide his jeans so my mom would not wash them! he only felt this way about his jeans though... shirts got washed after a days wearing.

one time a stripper at WAGG gave me her panties and told me she got off in them before coming to work. they were stinky with a kind of sweet smell but i didn't mind. i took them home with me.

A different perspective and a drop of knowledge...

...actually very different it seems from the others in this thread:

Though I have jeans that I wash as frequently as most of you, I also have jeans that I wear frequently but wash once every 3-6 months. Actually, I have two pairs that I haven't washed yet and they are going on 10 and 13 months respectively.

Gross? Depends on who, but I can appreciate if you say so. Unhygienic? Not really...lots of studies to support this especially if you consider how often you wash your couch for example.

Anyway, if you can get past this part...I offer some insight:

With the popularity of the "worn or distressed"-look of jeans, different washes and treatments were introduced 5-10 years ago to the denim market (think Seven, Rock&Republic, Paper, Diesel, Parasuco). Because each brand could offer almost limitless styles, washes, and looks, this led to the premium denim market which were highlighted by various unique designs and designers with higher end pricing. Naturally, consumers and companies alike realized that nothing beats your pair of Levis that you've had forever and have worn in like a glove...stretched perfectly where your knees are, ripped where you constantly dragged the cuff on your shoes, discolored where you kept your wallet, or sweat stained from havng your hands in your left pocket all the time. Brands emerged (my favourites are Nudie, Imperial, and Farmer) that offered "raw" and "selvage" denim jeans, which are intended to be naturally "worn" and rarely washed as this breaks down the material in a negative way. Raw being denim material that is dyed but not washed anytime during the manufacturing process. Most jeans are washed in chemicals either before or after the sewing process to break down the fabric and make it softer and more comfortable. Selvage is a more expensive and higher quality denim fabric because it is thicker than standard and made from double looms instead of single looms.

So, if you are a denim affcionado like me, it is more important to wear your jeans then to wash them, especially if you started with raw denim and want to create that perfect pair! :D

Don't believe me? Trust me, there are many others out there like me..check it out...

Jeans I will wear multiple times never two days in a row though (or usualy in the same week). Some sweatshirst/hoodies I might wear a couple of times. Beyond that, the only thing I will wear more than once without washing is my funeral suit which is rarely on for more than an hour or two at a time.

As long as no one here wears condoms more than once, I think it's not too bad.
