Lol this is awesome. I agree with the others here, this has been discussed a lot before and the general consensus seems to be the same. It's already a high wage and you are dealing with professionals, but of course they appreciate your tips. I don't generally tip professionals but I'm sure anyone would accept/appreciate free money. That being said, what exactly would you hope to gain by tipping the girl? Better service next time? A professional's service should remain constant no matter, in which many report to be true in this case as well (tipping did not equate to better or worse service)Sometimes I expect a partial refund let alone a tip
It is usually 15%, 20%, 25%. For big parties, they automatically add-in 15% even on high end places like Canoe.Maybe one of you can explain the tipping rules for Canada. I know in the USA it is customary to do 15% for a lunch thing and 20% for a dinner thing and if you have a certain number of people at your table they may automatically add in an 18% 'service charge" (aka tip). In Oz we just round it out to tip...thus if your lunch is $13.45 you might leave $15. If you lunch is $14 you'd leave $15; it it was $14.25 you'd leave $15; it it was $12.50 you'd leave $15. Anyhow, sort me out on this. Thanks!
When was the last time that you have gone out for dinner and referred to it as a sessionYou tip on the level of service you receive. Some of those you tip, can be exceptional in servicing you. One waiter after two visits, knows what I will order, and tells me, my order first. (lol) In some places, you get to know the people serving you, makes a much nicer visit each time. For bad service, it used to be leave a penny. Now you just make it a nickel. Tells them you would have tipped, if the place did a better job. Odds are you will never return, if the experience was not good. For others in this thread, the title did not say, only SPs.
This is my exact thoughts on the matter. For any SP/MPA I see regularly, I will get them a small gift from time to time.I don't tip. Like any good biz, my return biz is what the smart SPs are after.
