I was wondering how people got stuck, but I guess you just are driving a long and then all the sudden there is a huge puddle and you cannot see how deep it is. No one would really expect something to be so deep.

I was shocked that during the power outages no one was directing traffic in a lot of major intersections downtown. Even during rush hour traffic. Eeeek.

I have two problems: one, the paper says he only did it because he was in such a rush, but then he has time to wait around to arrange the tow (which would actually take place much later)? And two, he intentionally drove into water which he knew or should have known was too deep for a Ferrari to navigate: insurance rates should not rise for others because of his intentional actions.

"Levitt had been trying to call a tow truck, then realized it wasn’t going to arrive in time. So he opened the door, letting the awful water flow in, and collected his bags from the trunk."

Read/Comprehend much, guys?

I don't know the guy. If you take his statements at face value, it would appear he has great work ethic and dedication to this clients. If you don't, you should also keep in mind that wealth is relative. The Ferrari to him (bought USED, btw) could be the same as a Honda to me.

btw, bitch all you want about his irresponsible actions hiking up your insurance premiums. But, have you asked him what HIS premiums were on the Ferrari?

I'm sure your rates are going to rise because Howie ran into a puddle and got stuck. Total cost of his 'accident' was how much?

His dedication has nothing to do with his stupidity! And, by the way, I know tons about dedication! Thank you very much!

I would be ashamed to get my photo and a story on the front pages of the Star....to discuss DEDICATION..... After stupidly driving into and leaving the car in the drink. What on gads green earth was this dick thinking.

Sure he was dedicated. But his handling of his car before, and the two page self plug story after, through shameless two page stories in the Star is ridiculous. Again, his actions affect MY INSURANCE RATES.
you sound like a whining bitch

Lots of cars got flooded, many cars made it through the water only to stall out because the wiring got wet. I also went under and underpass, and was happy to make it out the other side. If you were driving around at all, you could not always see the road or judge how deep the water was you were about going through. A Ferrari might not be the best car to be driving on flooded streets.

.
it was very hard to see how deep the water was. if i hadn't seen the car ahead of me get stuck, I would have gone through myself

Or more importantly, does insurance cover an act of stupidity like driving into deep water in a low riding sports car?

Good point, but he's a lawyer. IT would probably be cheaper for the insurance company to pay out rather than get into a full scale coverage battle with him.

He will charge himself $600 per hr. and if wins, Ins. has to pay his legal costs?:canada: it is a beautiful country!

what a shameless ass. Were lawyers not supposed to be smart and astute???

This is canada's leading employment lawyer, and he ends up parking his ferrari in a lake during the flood.

Then, he ends up on the front page of the toronto star, joking about how busy he was and had to get out of toronto, and just left his car.

What a complete dick. He readily admits driving the car into the water....not knowing if sinkholes or manholes were exposed within. Then runs away from it, only to get front page advertising in the toronto star.

All this while real victims in lac megantic deal with multiple deaths, fire, explosions and a real mess.

Its dicks like this that cause my insurance to go up.

Idiot
You must have a bad case of PMS!

Does insurance cover Act of God, such as flood, and hale?
That's the "Comprehensive" part of of the policy.

Or more importantly, does insurance cover an act of stupidity like driving into deep water in a low riding sports car?
Of course it does. Just as it covers any other act of stupidity like driving your car into a hydro pole, or into the back of another car. The difference is you'll likely get charged for causing an accident but won't for abandoning your car in deep water during the a storm which dumped the largest amount of rain ever recorded at Pearson.

And, it's just a car. Who really cares.

Howard and I did some business over 20 years ago, he's the furthest from being a dick or an idiot. He's a brilliant employment lawyer and well versed in many areas. He was a multi millionaire then so imagine his worth today. That car is chicken feed to him, you think he didn't know what he was doing by going on the front page of the Star? He's extremely aggressive in business and knows exactly what he's doing in his every move.

I suggest you look in the mirror and rethink who's the dick and idiot here, among other adjectives that many posters have used to describe you.
