And it made WCW profitable for the first time. Also created wrestling best boom period since the 80s and who was responsible for that.
Mostly Nash and Hall since the NWO was their and Bischoff's baby.
Hogan jumped in and it was a great run for a bit but then he fucked everything up being a key part of why WCW destroyed themselves.
And, of course, credit has to go to everyone in WWE with responding and eventually taking everything to new heights.

But all credit to the original heel turn and the first part of the NWO run. Hogan was doing good work for a bit, there.

NWO doesn't work without Hogan. It brought fans back to wrestling which was suffering in popularity. WCW was sold because of the Time/Warner merger.

The invasion angle was working fine without Hogan.
Did Hogan going bad make it better?
Absolutely.
It also was part of what caused so many problems down the line.
Look at how much they fucked up the Sting match.

Did the NWO getting red hot help wrestling?
Absolutely.

WCW was sold as part of the merger, yes, but it had been dying for a while once WWE took over the Monday Night Wars.

Who was more popular and a fan favorite over the last 10 years?

Don't lie!!!;)

Let me ask it a different way,

Who was hated in the last 10 years, Hogan or the Undertaker?
Hogan is more than a decade older than Undertaker. Now tell me who has sold out stadiums and arenas around the world. I'll tell you who didn't. Undertaker. Only woke libs like you hate Hogan. Are you still upset he was the third man. Did you cry in your red and yellow Hulkamania shirt when you found out your hero joined the Outsiders. Let me guess this is you in the video.

Hogan's more popular but Austin drew in more in a shorter run. As for non wrestling wise Austin has his issues too but not as bad as Hogan's ego and lies. Taker overall seems more friendly than Hogan. Hogan also made racist comments that were caught on tape regarding his daughter's ex.
Austin was a wife beater. Are you saying a liar and racist are more of a threat to society than an abuser. SMFH

Hogan was hot until people figured out he’s a real-life dumpster fire. His “legacy” tanked harder than his acting career, while Undertaker walked away with mainstream respect and zero need to hide behind red-and-yellow nostalgia.

P.S. ... Why are you bringing politics and insults into the lounge?

That's exactly why the crowd booed him at his last WWE appearance. They weren't booing "Hulk Hogan" the character they were booing "Terry" the racist and liar.

Vince McMahon ruined his legacy too. What a shame.
Oh yeah and he brought down Brock Lesnar with him.

No one in the mainstream knows who Undertaker is. He's only popular with the middle aged losers who still watch wrestling.

Yet you seem to know who Undertaker is, HMMMMM...
I watched wrestling when I was younger like most my age. I grew out of it. No wrestlers were close to being the star Hogan was. Undertaker was a cool gimmick but got stale especially when Steve Austin and the Rock were gaining popularity. He was never the top guy for the WWF like Hogan was.

Hate to break it to you guys, but most of the top wrestlers were pieces of shit. The Horsemen, Rhodes, Shawn Micheals, Andre etc

all were assholes in their business and personal activities.

This is true, I don't disagree. Very few were "nice guys" in real life. Maybe RVD , John Cena come to mind as guys who are decent fellas outside of the ring.
