I'm the same as kherg. Even if I showered not too long ago, I'll take another quick one if she asks about it. Even if I think it's unnecessary, if it gives her peace of mind, why not? Same with using the mouthwash. I do sometimes say I just took a shower, though, so that there is a reason I'm only in there a minute.
Can only fathom the frustration. I can barely stand people in an office or social setting who have terrible hygiene and seem unwilling to change, and I don't have to go down on any of them. Also don't understand stubbornness, either. If someone told me I had a BO problem, of course I might feel offended or embarrassed. But my reaction would be to confirm if it is a real problem and address it, not double down and refuse it exists. I would also be angry at the people who must have known it was an issue and just made fun of it behind my back, not the person who told me about it.
