Hypergamy (colloquially referred to as "marrying up") (women mainly) or The antonym "hypogamy" refers to the inverse: marrying a person of lower social class or status (colloquially "marrying down").

Anyone ever met a man who married up?

I know one ladies player - big body count - must have married 8-15 year older women than him with HUGE pension. HE is a pretty boy and always worked.

Basement guy, parents, place 50's gets married, kept his hobby car, wife has 2 older mid's 20's kid don't live at home, smooth move so no alimony in case of separation.

Well… you would have to believe that the construct of social circles are even real, in order to believe in marrying up or down.

Mind you… perception is reality.

second, the concept that every wealthy person’s kid is automatically superior… is a stretch. We have a Hotel owner here in the falls whose kid is a meth addict. The cut him off. He is a mess.
