We weren't ready to host these games, particularly from an infrastructure perspective. I would have rather passed on these and made a bid for the Summer Olympic games in the future. The Pan Am Games mean nothing to me, and I'm a huge sports fan. I have zero interest in going to any event.

It already is. Opening ceremonies are tomorrow, if that's what I heard correctly.
Yet today and yesterday, driving on anything but the highway was a nightmare. This morning I saw a few 18-wheelers on Lakeshore and to top it off, in the left lane of 2 lanes.
I've been pretty good recently trying to calm down and avoid the "rage", but this was ludicrous, because it's bad enough we have drivers who don't signal or signal JUST as they're about to turn, people who brake for no obvious reason and are not mindful that there are others behind them.

Visiting friends in the Dixie/QEW area, I have to say, AVOID Dixie between QEW and Dundas like the mother frigging PLAGUE - construction finishing up for the water tunnels (for Brampton, overpopulation there) and now they seem to be slowly finishing up the roads.

It's a fucking disaster.


I'm gonna do a search, but I'd sure like to know which clowns voted these games and when.
If anyone knows, please share.

We did work on both Pan Am sites, and one of them was bust. Tight schedules, general contractors fucking up, and no extras paid.

The contractors are just trying to carry on business and taking whatever work is out there. We didn't bribe anyone, although I'm sure construction associations and unions promoted the idea, but nothing sinister in that.

I hope they turn out to be great games, but honestly, I have no interest whatsoever.


The only disagreement I have with Tesla is any infrastructure that might later benefit society, although Metrolinx or the current subway projects have nothing to do with the Pan Am games.
