2008 is a Good year. :) I have successfully imported my first car from Maryland, USA

Total time to hit Canada after completing payment.... - 3 Weeks and 4 Days.

Suprises were,

Structeral Test, apprantly its compulsary for modded vehicles.. There were no mods on mine other than the fact it was lowered...

It much easier that many think. All you have to do is call bidlux or a shipping company that has an office on the county you are purchasing your vehicle, they will do the complete paperwork. Big companies include DAS, ride safely etc...

There are also guys on kijiji and craigslist that will help you with a lot of the work...

It takes some faith cause i had to hand over the certified cheque once bidlux had possession of the car.... The car was still in states .... Glad everything went welll..

Guys if you are buying a car that costs over $30K - $40K then get it in the states...

Don't let fucking delears in toronto tell you imported cars will cost 15% duty ets... They do, but i found delears in states very willing to help you and will go out of their way to help you. The dude that sold me the car did a certified appraisal... Its an easy way out of the duties SCAM...

Did you know our gasoline is cheaper too :p

One of the reason I like going to the Falls--when the weather is nice--than Toronto. I can hop over to NY to fill the tank up.

Seems like many things are cheaper here but I don't believe you would enjoy living here.

Whats you doing with the $25,000 you just saved, that sure buy alot of hourly dates for sure

You sure about that? Last month I filled up in Buffalo by the Peace Bridge, and later realized I'd paid about $1.20 a litre.

Using gasbuddy.com, gas in Buffalo maxes out at $3.39/gal.

($3.39/gal) * (0.264172051 gal/litre) = $0.89554325289 US

$ 0.89554325289 US = 0.89684179061 CAD, using current exchange rate from XE.com

However, it is possible you could have hit a tourist trap, or there was an increase in prices depending on the market forces at the time.

Conversion Rule: To convert from Gallons to Liters, multiply the number of Gallons by 3.7854.

So 1 US gallon is 3.7854....last I knew Gasoline in Canada is $1.04 a liter,

So $1.04 times X 3.7854 ==$3.93 a gallon

Gas is not that high---yet, here in the USA

By my place today the cheap stuff is $3.19 a gallon and the 93 stuff is $3.39--it was $2.99 last week for the cheapest grade, NY gas seems to be about 10 cents less.

But yeah, you need to spend $3 to cross back and forth---SP's are $180 an hour in the Falls, thats where the big savings are at...Besides those Falls are cool too--when its hot outside but I bet they are pretty now too.

I take the street right off the Rainbow bridge-thats Niagara st. down a little ways until it ends, comes to a T. Turn left and a short ways down theres a Mobile gas station, looks pretty new too, the rest of the town looks like a little Detroit ! Only thing nice besides the gas station is the NY state park, after seening that for a bit, its back in to Canada I go.

Pinto's had to have a name change when shipped to Latin America because Pinto is spanish slang for a man with a very small pecker.

71 pintos also had large gas tanks so you also get more savings when filling up in the US. I was looking to get one for my mother in law.

A bit protectionist aren't we?

with all the cars made or assembled in Canada and sold in the US you need to take a step back and re-think your position..........

So the Profits stay in Canada too

I do not have to re think my position.
My motives are complete Canadian domination and we are a long way from that
