I don't know why I watch this crap. It has some of the most annoying people I have ever seen.

First off...DJs who are treated like rockstars? For f**ks sake, they are not musicians. All they do is play the stereo and dance around like a bunch of posers.

Secondly, there was this wannabe celebrity on tonight by the name of Foxworth Bentley, or something bogus like that. Who is this guy? I think I've seen him prance around in an Outkast video, but does he have a talent. Yet another poser.

Third, there is this old fart who looks so pathetic, hanging around and on to women he can only pay for....he apparently owns the club.

I don't think that there is anyone on this show that I would want to associate with.

Why do I watch? I don't know. Time to change the channel, I guess.

I'm not sure why I ever watch it either - I can only think of two possibilities: 1) It is only ever on when nothing else is on on any of the other 100 or so channels I have access to; or 2) I am a loser.

Whether or not you want to admit it, DJ's like Armin van Buuren are artists who have achieved stardom.... and probably made more for his one show at Ice than you make in a year.

I enjoyed the show. I thought is was a different, interesting twist to reality television... but then I also enjoyed Amish in the City

Have you ever been out to a club or party to go dancing?

The DJ can make or break your evening. They select the music from about a gazillion offerings on the market from every kid with a computer who thinks they can make music. The DJ screens and selects the entire soundscape - and creates the mood and ambiance of the environment in which you are spending your time. (No mean feat - aside from the myriad of different styles of dance music -- house, breaks, hip-hop, drum & bass, jungle, trance, reggae, disco, pop, blah, blah, blah .... -- there is also speed and duration and melody and , OMG its MUSIC!)

Aside from that obvious point the DJ is also responsible for presenting the music in a way that flows with the crowd - mixing in one track to the next without causing jolts in your vibe.

The DJ is the shaman of the evening - they create the entire event. IF they are good they interact with the crowd and take everyone for a ride - highs and lows, mellow and frenetic, so that the experience is fulfilling.

I've seen DJs clear a dancefloor and I've seen them bring an entire room to simultaneous orgasm.

Sounds like you've been spending too much time in an elevator (or perhaps on the couch with the clicker out of reach?) to understand this. When was the last time you danced?

Good point(s) Leatherdoll!!

Also the last time I checked DJ's didnt exactly enjoy celebrity status like Paris Hilton whom IMO hasnt done anything!!

If Paul Van Dyk walked the streets of Toronto I'd say maybe 1 out of 10 would recognize him and that doesnt exactly make him a rock star.

Give me a break. The DJ is a paid employee. He/she does their job or they don't. The fact is, they play "other" peoples music. If they stink, they should be fired the same way a shitty waiter/waitress or bartender would.
