i dont think he said ed belfour was above those goalies u mentioned, he just stated that ed belfour was one of the top goalies.... i also believe that ed belfour is a great goalie, he may not be as good as he was back then. but his stats do speak for themselves.... he may not be better then the hall of fame goalies that u meantioned....... but i believe he has a better chance of bringing the leafs to the finals, if they do make it, then curtis joseph.

Cujo has always been a good, not great reflex goaltender. The problem with that style of play is that with age your reflex time slows and you appear weeker. This style can make for some great higlights on sports net but, if your in position you wont need to scramble to make a save.
Eddie is a classically trained tender, this is why he has lasted as long as he has. How many times did you Eddie flop around like a fish out of water? Almost never this is because he's almost always in position and controls his rebounds.. he make the job look easy.
I hope JFJ does not make this move as Cujo has been on a steady decline the last few years. I'm glad he left when he did. Great community guy but, If Eddie's year off has helped his back we should have not problem in the net.

This whole thread is a mood point. Belfour is under contract with the Leafs for over 5 million this year. When the Leafs decided to not buy out his contract, Belfour became the leafs goalie. This is one contract the leafs should have bought out to make some cap room. Now they are stuck with this contract and there is no team in the NHL that will trade for this contract. When this deal was signed the Leafs over paid, but at the time the money wasn't an issue. Now that money could be spent more wisely some where else. But on a positive note, the Leafs only have four players under contract for next year. But if jason allison accumulates all his bonuses this year, they will come off the Leafs cap next year. so if the cap next year is 35 Million, the Leafs cap will be 32 Million.
