Do note for next time, my original idea was a very clearly a conservative way of living modestly without having to work. At no time did I mention how the money would be invested, what the asset allocation would be, or the risk profile.

I think it is also obvious that we have very different definitions of "comfortable". . Obviously to you $50 k a year is a lot of money.

As far as I am concerned it would be lovely as added income to a pension or to earned income, but would not be enough to keep me comfortable.

How could I have been in medical school?

1) I dislike jargon and believe that if you cannot communicate without it you are just trying to create an illusion of intelligence and competence.

2) I believe that the entire North American intern program has more to do with the old boy club and hazing than with learning. I also believe that after 24 hours (let alone 36 hours) no one should be allowed near a patient.

3) I find that existing Doctors who want to help attractive young females prepare for the boards are just dirty old men and if you tell them to fuck off they tell everyone you have a terrible attitude. Best is to just not give them any straight answers.

4) I find that the Canadian system provides great service to those who cannot afford medical care, but mediocre care for those who can afford to pay for great service.

If I assume I have a few more babies the average family income in Ontario is about $70,000 and the poverty line around $30,000. Why would anyone try and live half way between average and poverty line?
