They have been doing so on seasonal basis quite successfully in the U.S. New England States for at least a decade. Is McDonald's insane? They're now selling genuine lobster sandwiches! Who in their right mind would go to McDonald's for lobster?![]()
I did. Not that I've ever been accused of being in my right mind, of course. Still, I had to. Just, you know, cause the curiosity was killing me. And it was every bit as McMediocre as you would expect. And this is the last time I ever TOFTT at McDonalds, ya hear?Is McDonald's insane? They're now selling genuine lobster sandwiches! Leaving aside the fact that it is mostly adult customers buying their $1.32 pigeon burgers at WalMart McD's, I don't think the "Let's order lobster at McDonalds while the kids eat their burgers" demographic in Ontario is really all that large. A few risk-taking thrill seekers aside, it'll flop and go back to being an East Coast thang again.I recall my sister in law saying when Walmart took over Woolco... and they were putting in a McDonalds rather than a traditional type dept. store restaurant... why on earth would walmart put in a McDonalds in there, who in their right mind would want to eat in there? I said, do you think that any kid that's shopping with their parents is going to shut up until they get a burger & fries from there? she was quiet for a second and said, yeah, makes sense now.
So, with McD's introducing the lobster in Ontario, now parents can take the kids there for their burger & fries, Mom & Dad can have the lobster.
Makes sense to me.
With the kinds of decisions McDonalds makes, I wonder if they will ever be a successful business. Is McDonald's insane? They're now selling genuine lobster sandwiches! Who in their right mind would go to McDonald's for lobster?![]()
They must know something. I held their stock for a few years and made out like a bandit. Wouldn't be a buyer now though. With the kinds of decisions McDonalds makes, I wonder if they will ever be a successful business.
They obviously have no idea what they are doing.
My point (although sarcastically) exactly. These guys have built a huge business. I think they know a little more than Petzel about what will sell/make profit. They must know something. I held their stock for a few years and made out like a bandit.
Metro does.Sometimes I buy lobster tails at Loblaws when they are on sale. I also like the meat in the claws but they don't sell claws only.
Too bad.I tried the sandwich a few days ago and very disappointed....there were a few chunks of small pieces but the sandwich itself was mainly bun and lettuce....wont be buying again for sure.
Buy a whole live lobster, that way you get the claws and the tail. You also get a live lobster that you know is fresh. When they sell the tails only, these are the ones that died on the way back to shore, who knows how long it took for them to get cooked and frozen after they croaked. I suspect that it is also cheaper this way. ( by the lb./kg )Sometimes I buy lobster tails at Loblaws when they are on sale. I also like the meat in the claws but they don't sell claws only.
