Very possible poonhunter
That's why I asked what PC was he using.
I'm running Ubuntu 8.10 on an old PC from 1997.
It's a Gateway P2, 400Mhz, with 384 RAM.
Ubuntu is not a demanding OS and runs good on old PCs.
That P2 runs 8.10 OK but it struggles at times. The video is choppy but it plays music fine and is pretty quick for surfing the web. I like using it still because it has great sounding Boston Acoustics speakers with sub, that sound much better than the speakers on my new laptop.
That P2 ran the same with Ubuntu 8.04 as with 8.10. The version before 8.04, Gutsy Gibbon 7.10, played video pretty smooth though, on this old P2.
Of course Ubuntu flys and runs video and everything great on my new laptop.
Laptop is a dual boot setup with Vista/Ubuntu and Ubuntu runs faster than Vista.
