Intercontinental and debit cards

I bought six days stay at the Intercontinental Toronto center
through hotwire. Do they accept american debit card(with visa logo) for the deposit and payment? If not do they accept cash instead?

As far as I know, most ATM's will accept american debit cards but retail outlets, restaurants and hotels cannot take the cards, just as our debit cards are not accepted in american stores etc.

Most of the hotels in TO now are equiped to handle all "debt/Cheque" cards. They also take cash. ( you may even get a better deal)
