Question for the guys: would you see an SP if you knew she was going to post a review of YOU on a public board??

Personally, I think this new "service" proposed by Paige Taylor / Private Companions is one of the most ill conceived ideas I have ever heard in a business where the clients desire for "discretion" is one of the most critical consideration.

This "marketing" scheme has to rank right up there amongst the DUMBEST of the DUMBEST.

Up-Yourz.com proposed new service

From: "paige_taylor121" <paige_taylor121@yahoo.com> Add to Address Book
Date: Tue, 24 Feb 2004 15:57:01 -0000
Subject: [Private-Companions] Up-Yourz.com

Coming soon, new review/safe board...

Up-Yourz.com
another division of www.private-companions.com

Ladies, if you're charging less than $250 an hour, up-yourz! (your
rate, that is). As a major North American city, Toronto's sp rates
have plummeted over the last several years. Perhaps some of you
ladies have been brainwashed into believing that you have to keep
your prices well below the average within the industry in order to
attract clients. Consider this, $250/hour was the average rate in
Toronto ten years ago when I started in this industry. Now some of
you are offering approximately $100 for the hour? Don't you see that
if every sp in this city set her price at a minimum $250 across the
board, these "hobbyists" would have no choice but to pay what you're
worth, instead of continuing to drive rates down, while demanding
more bang (pun intended) for their buck? Toronto has some of the
finest SPs in the industry. Lets work together to keep them here and
treat them with the respect they deserve by paying them like the
classy ladies they are. Ladies you have the power. You're in
control. If you're happy marketing yourself at bargain basement
prices then keep dropping your rates and continue catering to the
clients who don't believe you're worth more. Or, you can Up-Yourz
and get paid what you're worth. The choice is yours.

The hobbyists are welcome to post reviews BUT the ladies may post a
review, in kind, about the hobbyist if they wish. ABSOLUTELY NO
PERSONAL INFORMATION ALLOWED (obviously) and every review has to be
done in a tasteful manner -- the hobbyist can only be referred to by
his profile name (and yes, we know he can change this often).
Ladies, now you can rate these men as they have been rating you for
so long: Did he show up on time? Was he a gentleman or a jerk? How
was his hygeine? How would you rate his overall appearance? Did he
respect your preset price or did he insult you by trying to barter?
Did he respect your limits? Did he go the extra mile and maybe bring
a bottle of wine, or flowers? Would you see him again? Would you
recommend him to other SPs? Did he have a cute butt? ... you get the
idea. Most decent, true gentlemen will welcome this kind of review
because it will put them on the VIP list for many top notch SPs.

This review board will also serve as a "safe board" where sps can
post legitimate warnings and complaints about clients.

In an effort to standardize pricing in Toronto, we are offering
ladies who want to up their price to a minimum $250/hour and
$150/half hour free advertising and the use of a professional
photographer at minimum cost, and you remain completely independent.
Also, if you need help in any other area of your business we will
offer our assistance free of charge.

We reserve the right to limit our membership to SPs who charge
minimum $250, and a post stating this is required.

This board is open to both female and male escorts.

If anyone is caught charging less than $250 while taking advantage of
our free advertising, you will be promptly banned from the board.

If you have any questions feel free to call us any time at 647-899-
3713.

Get on board now and Up-Yourz!

If you check the thread on the "other board" even the SP's think this is a really bad idea.

"Hobbiests" ought to be very concerned if this new "service" actually gets off the ground.

Anyone concerned about "discretion" should be very selective of the SP they are using, especially if lists are being kept and reviews are being shared.

Just my 2 cents .....

In the Doghouse again!
If review you must, turnabout's fairplay

Call me old - fashioned or what ever you will, I strongly feel that what does or does not happen between any lady and myself in a bedroom is still far too personal to be ranked and/or rated. Some of the "nicest" reviews still reveal details that should be left in the bedroom, imho. The only numbers I can think of that should be used to describe sexual encounters are 6 and 9.

As for a lady ranking me? Talk about performance anxiety? Damn straight! No doubt about it. Every red-blooded male that draws a honest breath would have to admit to some degree of concern.

No Thanks Paige, I'll pass!

Paige has posted a friend or employees rates on the other board "brandi" at 180 fs, 200 greek (sunday special). What about the long $250 above only rant?

Trust her or her "secretary business" with my info. Ya...right. Cops calling my place is exactly what I need. From what I am reading on T-Bill's board, she doesn't even seem aware of the risks in the nonsense she proposes. Kiarra's trying, but I doubt much is getting through.

This cries out for a poll -- or two polls; one for the "clients" and a separate poll for the "SPs":

Question: Are you in favour of the new service being proposed by Paige Taylor / Private Companions that would create a "client review board" and maintain a "client list - database" for its participating Service Providers???

If I knew how to set up such a poll, I would .... any volunteers??

The discussion / debate on the "other board" is rather intense, a little more passionate and personal compared to the one here.

www.gtacompanions.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6622

This subject deserves more discussion by those of us --- on BOTH sides of the service equation. There are serious potential consequences for all involved.

I for one, wouldn't want anything to do with any SP who subscribed to this new proposed service.

The interesting thing is that T-Bull, alleged Great Defender of the Johns, has so quickly flip-flopped on this issue. Its notable how, in the original link provided last week, he was so against the idea that he was going to kick the woman off of his board but, in this morning's link, they are good friends. Its amazing what one discounted session can do!

Personally, I wouldn't mind being reviewed. As long as the girls don't reveal any personal info on me past my handle, I’m kewl with it. Besides, I wouldn’t be so stoooooooopid to give a girl my real name anyways. Do I really care what guys on an escort board think of my sexual prowess? Yeah right. Plus, the only way to improve is through constructive feedback.

Some guys must have really fragile egos if they would let a review get to them though. And, the double standard that goes along with reviewing the ladies. I think it would be hilariously funny to see some guys get trashed in a review, especially if it was directed back at the same guys who slag the girls on these boards. You just know there’s another side to that wanting to come out. I’m already addicted to Terb but fuck I don’t think I could pull myself away if girls started to review the guys. Too bad it will NEVER happen.

Also, I don’t get the big deal about a woman who is trying to control supply and fix prices through incentive based advertising. If you know anything about economics you’ll know that she’ll never do it, so why get your panties in a bunch? It’s her right to do whatever she wants to do in a free capitalistic economy.

According to R****d, you give one of the best BBBJ's in the business. He didn't care for the way you cried during anal, though.

Do you really believe that there would be any constructive feedback? Most SP's are not stupid enough to risk repeat (and new) business by being openly critical of a guy's talents in the bedroom. Sadly, a lot of men can't even take constructive criticism from their significant others, let alone someone that they just paid $250 for an hour of sex. My guess is that most of the "reviews", if accessible by clients, would just be thinly-veiled shilling.

Personally, I don't have a problem with SP's reviewing Johns - I just can't see any point to it.

And, the double standard that goes along with reviewing the ladies.
I couldn't disagree more. There is no double standard. Clients are paying money for a promised service. Reviews are a way of ensuring that said service meets promised and expectations. You need to remember that, prior to the emergence of review boards, the industry was rife with bad service and scam artists. Being able to find out which SP's are "as advertised", who's guilty of bait and switch tactic, etc. is a valuable consumer resource. Unlike a bad client list, client reviews would serve no such purpose for SP's - they would simply be entertaining time wasters.

Do chefs review food critics? Of course not.

As long as the girls don't reveal any personal info on me past my handle, I’m kewl with it.
Well, therein lies the both the problem with the concept and my suspicion about T-Boob's motives.

Unless the booking is made through a board PM, how does T-Boob or the SP know that the client is "Poster X"? Beyond the small fanboy groups that cluster around certain SP's, I would gamble that the majority of posters do not identify themselves as such when they make bookings.

Perhaps more notably, though, is that T-Boob herself (in response to the backlash on the John Wal-Mart) has stated that the review boards comprise a tiny percentage of her bookings. If that's the case, what really is the motivation here?

Also, I don’t get the big deal about a woman who is trying to control supply and fix prices through incentive based advertising.
I think its more in her attitude, rather then the basic concept. In both the initial post and the subsequent follow-ups, T-Boob acted as if SP's were entitled to that particular rate by some divine right. I mean, who does she think she is, Bell Canada? ;)

LMAO.

Not really. Constructive feedback is a rare thing. Most people are ass kissers. I was just saying that is the way I would handle it if it were me.

Personally, I don't have a problem with SP's reviewing Johns - I just can't see any point to it.
But why does that matter?

I couldn't disagree more. There is no double standard. Clients are paying money for a promised service. Reviews are a way of ensuring that said service meets promised and expectations.
Come on. Clients are paying for a sexual service and confidentiality is implicit in the agreement for both parties. If a girl knew that you were a reviewer you'd get your ass booted out the door so fast it would make your head spin.

You need to remember that, prior to the emergence of review boards, the industry was rife with bad service and scam artists.
That has a lot more to do with the economy than Terb. The vast majority of hobbyists don't use review boards in terms of percentage figures.

Unlike a bad client list, client reviews would serve no such purpose for SP's - they would simply be entertaining time wasters.
What's the point of most of your posts? There doesn't have to be a purpose to anything as you see it.

Do chefs review food critics? Of course not.
So??

There are two main flaws with this line of thinking.

1) There is no implied right of privacy and confidentiality in the service and product being reviewed by the food critic. Not so in the case of a review by a hobbyist.

2) Chefs can review food critics it is just not in their best interests. If a hobbyist breaks the implied right of privacy and confidentiality above, that is inherent in the sexual service transaction being provided unless otherwise stated, then why shouldn't a SP be able to do the same and not be condemned for her actions? That's the double standard. It's not in her best interest but definitely within her right to fair play.

I disagree. Indeed, its not unheard of for women to actively seek out certain reviewers in hope of a positive review. Personally, I think such women dramatically overestimate the value of such reviews, but it happens more than you might realize.

That said, there are certainly some (many?) SP's who would choose to not see an individual if they knew that they were going to be reviewed.

As for the mutual right to confidentiality, I'm not sure where you get that from. Assuming that we are NOT talking about personal information (to which both parties have an obvious expectation of discretion), I don't believe that such an agreement is implicit. If a woman promotes her sexual services in a semi-public manner, its reasonable for her to expect that her clients may review her.

Ouch.

But you're right.

Well, we don't agree about the "implied right", so that's a problem. Putting that aside, though, I certainly agree that its her right to review - I just think its foolish and unnecessary.

How many girls advertise what sexual services they offer on their web page? I would say a low percentage of girls. Is it really fair then to review a service that is private, personal and not advertised in explicit terms, on a public forum? Don't you think confidentiality is implicit in that arrangement?
