Ubuntu s not a Web Browser...it is an Operating System and completely different discussion...Firefox is the Browser, not the operating system - you have mxed these up!!Ubuntu has all the features you are looking for, it also uses the Firefox operating system. You can download Ubuntu free off the internet.
If you have an old computer, it seems cause it to run faster because it is a light OP. I use to run it on an old Dell computer and it worked just fine. I have a new laptop now and can not install Ubuntu because it has problems with AMD chips.
Use RockMelt and you never have to even go to the facebook page to use facebook. If you need to use Trident to display a page, simply use IE Tab. If you need Gecko, simply use Firefox Gecko Tab, instead of opening a new browser.Unfortunately Hotmail and Facebook don't display properly on it, so I still use IE for those.
You should also try IE tab, it may make things easier for you.I use Chrome exclusively now...have some plug-ins that work well and find it loads quickly...I was a Firefox fan prior but found the constant updates annoying...have not enjoyed IE for years, however, with one contract I have to use IE to sign in from home and find it cumbersome to say the least.
I also did a windows update a ont or so ago and didn't pay enough attention to the selections ended up with IE as the default browser and MSN as the homepage - not impressed when default changes like that are loaded in on OS updates (at least that is what I think caused it)
No 64 bit for Windows is what really holds me back.I used firefox for the longest time and just recently switched to chrome.
I like how "clean" chrome is
You can do all that with basically any browser, except that it will load and render better if it is just about anything other than IE.For me I mainly use Internet Explorer 9! Plus some Firefox.
Why do I prefer IE9?
- Vast amount of shortcuts which makes navigating the Internet much faster! e.g. function4 = jumpe to address bar, control+k = duplicate tab, control+t = open new tab where you can open your last session or open any previously closed tab.
- build in accelerator [the blue box when highlighting a word]. From there you can translate, map, define, search all of the highlight words without leaving the page!
- tracking protection! You can enable it to block cookies that track you, or you can download from Microsoft site, lists which can block most Ads! [for example fanboy Ad]
Here you can check out the vast list of Chrome shortcuts https://support.google.com/chrome/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=157179 there really isn't anything IE can do that Firefox,Chrome,Opera etc can't do. infact many of IE's features were taken from the other browsersFor me I mainly use Internet Explorer 9! Plus some Firefox.

LOL!!!IE is much superior to Firefox when it comes to features and security!
Yes, this is true, however Chrome has been able to do this for sometime. On the contrary, Firefox is just catching up to IE9 in some features! For example: only recently Firefox was able to simultaneously have two separate browsing sessions, one for Private browsing and another for regular browsing!

Internet Explorer does have fairly decent security these days, and does have more security features than any other browser. With that said, it also has more vulnerabilities than other browsers and more exploits are built to work with IE than other browsers. So it kind of evens out.LOL!!!
IE and M$ have improved but still remain a security sieve!
FF, Chome, or Opera browsers are ALL more secure than IE and have all the same features and more that most peeps want!....:eyebrows:
Being that I am a geek and interested in knowing about what's out there, I am intrigued. It actually looks like it does some useful things, such as encrypting, etc. but given that I am single, live alone and don't watch all that much pr0n it's not something I would likely use.Why am I not seeing any references here to HeatSeek. Can anything else match HS for privacy? I do have some issues, but it seems there's only me using it.
