Here's a question for all you internet experts. I share my computer with the GF. I use same computer to visits certain sites like this one. There would be "complications" if the GF found out about such visits. So is there any way to cover ones tracks completely? Currently, I delete my history from the drop down menu, but is this sufficient? Is there anything else I could or should be doing? What about these free internet washers?

Yep it all depends on the GF's computer experience, luckily my wife doesn't know diddly-squat about comps and just knows little english so I'm in heaven.

Privacy!!! Such a sweet thing...Raw if you are worried about your G/F finding out anything you can go to www.download.com and download a program for a free 30 day trial called Windows Washer 4.8 It will clear all documented history including sites visited passwords, and so on. It will also clear up your computer of any garbage!

If after 30 days you still want it on you pc, remove it from your computer and reinstall it. They have no limit to how many tuimes you can download it.

Hope this works/helps!!!

Take Care

My thanks to all for the helpful suggestions. Maybe I'll throw the thing out the window! If I could ask a follow - up... if I delete the cookies and cache as well as the history of visited sites, how can your activities be discovered? My techno - peasant mind doesn't follow. SC Dave - I too use a separate browser which is not launched from the desktop, but it could still be discovered with a little searching. There is no way to hide it is there?

As far as I know, deleting cookies and cache do not eliminate evidence on your hard drive. I think there are some programs you can use to over-write but it still may be possible to trace your history. Anyone out there know more about these programs?
