Lets say you want to start a small business and want to have an internet website to promote it and distribute information from.

What type of cost/services are required? Do you need a server? Can you rent space online? Costs?

I presume you want to sell cookies over the internet?

A server is required, but you don't necessarily have to buy or maintain one. There are companies that perform web hosting. I presume the cost would depend on how much space is needed and the amount of traffic but from what I've heard it is not really that expensive.

Just shop around for a webhosting company it much easier then having your own web server. There is many of them out there with different packages and features.
