Well, I like the new iPod shuffle and I'm considering it mainly for the gym.
How reliable are the previous shuffle versions.
Any people with first hand experience with the lil guys?

The original shuffle is considered to be at the top for ipod sound quality. The new shuffle is supposed to sound quite good, but some report a lot of hiss depending on headphone efficiency (and rfi?). For mobile environments, you likely do not care. Just so you know, if you order from apple they engrave it for you for free. It is a nice touch.

Better plan on getting some decent earbuds for the gym....the apple ones will be falling out all the time...I have a pair of Shure that fit snug and sound good

I don't care for an LCD screen on this unit, it's perfect for the gym.
I'll only really have at most 1 CD on the thing playing.
It shuffles and plays things in order, got a unit right now.
Sounds quality for its size is impressive.
It's so small and light, you barely feel it's there - unless you got it snapped to your tank top.

Are the Apple buds that bad? They keep falling out of your ear?
Thanks for the tip.

A buddy of mine who's a runner bought the new Shuffle and loves it...the clip was a huge selling point because he didn't want to wear an armband...he says he clips it to his shirt & doesn't feel it.

He says he uses a pair of in-ear buds because they feel better when running.

Here
I got a nano and can load ... I dont know, ALOT of music on it... you can get an after-market rubberized protective sleeve for it with armband for about $15 so you can use it at the gym. Its lightweight, comfortable, no problem on the screens.
