Canada is Tracking IPTV User’s IP Addresses

The war on IPTV services is continuing to heat up. These illegal services that sell access to live TV for a fraction of the cost of legal services have become a big target for media companies.

So what are IPTV services? In short, an IPTV service is an illegal live TV streaming service promising to give you all the big networks like ESPN but for a fraction of the cost of legal services.

Now we have learned that in Canada, users of IPTV services are having their IP address that can identify them logged. This comes as the NHL won a court order to block some pirate IPTV services. Not only did the internet service block the services, but they also logged and turned over the IP address of anyone who tried to access these services, according to TorrentFreak.

Canada is not alone in cracking down on IPTV services. In the US, a new law passed back in 2020 that made running an IPTV service a more serious criminal matter. Since 2020, multiple IPTV services have been targeted for legal action, both civil and criminal.

This is a massive shift from what used to be a hands-off approach by police. One of the first bit ones was when FBI went after the streaming service iStreamitAll. Later they went after the Gears Reloaded service was raided and shut down. Piracy is now being viewed as a criminal issue.

Recently both the Nitro IPTV service and USTV GO have both been shut down and in the case of Nitro, the owners are facing a $100 million judgment against them.

As cord cutting has put pressure on cable TV companies and content owners, they have invested heavily in efforts to stop even small piracy services. What was once a side project for many companies is now a major focus. Look for 2023 to be a year full of crackdowns on all kinds of illegal streaming services, including IPTV services.

USTVGO and sister site USTV247 were very good but you needed a VPN for some channels. There is still freeintertv.com and some others but they are not as good.

There used to be a free IPTV on Kodi and it was really good at the beginning. But it ceased to exist after a year or so. Probably because of a clampdown on these free providers.

I use NordVPN. I am not sure what type of box you have. Over the years I have had an android box, windows mini pc & an Amazon firestick. I use mainly use the firestick now. All 3 types of boxes have app stores where you can search on vpn and see what is available.

If it's any good it should come with a VPN built in - maybe ask the provider if it has one or if you can install one yourself
do you seriously think the provider is going to tell you the truth or what you want to hear? and how do you prove it?

ModeIPTV has been great for me, have been using it since August 2023 with zero issues. Just don't bother with the whatsapp/telegram and use their posted email address for contact.

I have been using the BitDefender VPN. Works fine on the IPTV box that I'm using. At one time some channels were being blocked without the VPN, and that's why I started using the VPN.

But a quick question to those who have the App installed on their Smart Phones. Has your Confidential Data etc stayed secure and not been compromised in anyway, in spite of using some of these third party Apps?

Do you have their website address to subscribe?

Do they use iptv Smarters app on the smart TV?

I currently subscribe to iptvhdprovider and get a lot of freezing, sound issues. Not sure if it is the service provider or the actual Smarters app.

I have been using Crown IPTV, and noticed a bit of freezing. But when I switched to an Internet Download Speed of 100 megabits per second and the IPTV Box is hardwired to the Pod, the picture quality since then has been just like watching your normal TV. Once in a number of months, there could be some issues, but that is because the Provider is working on updates and new formats / categories added to the IPTV. I would never subscribe to an online Provider, and instead pay those extra bucks in cash to a box store.

Firestick 4K, with the smarters app. Though you can use whatever app you like with the service.

Email contact@modeiptv(dot)ca to sub. I feel that I should add that you may need a VPN as well as some ISP's block the service in my experience.

I have had IPTV for 2 years and had no problems. I have a Mag 424 box and a subscription from a store in Brampton. I have never had freezing or any of the above problems described in this thread. It has been very stable and I am satisfied. I have about 10K channels (seriously) and my subscription costs $8/month.

Golumbia Video, Kennedy Road South, Brampton. They have a beautiful, well organized store front. I am sure I have seen this business mentioned somewhere before on Terb regarding IPTV.
