(beside Elizabeth May) that the Green Party won't be included in the debates? I'm not.

In a very dark place
The Greens can debate with Emma the Secretary if they need to speak.

That would be fun to watch.

Really can't see what they have of substance to add, then again celine is not easily understood by Canadians either.

I am to a very small degree. I havegiven up on the NDP ever doing anything relevant in any way, and I think if people actually saw them next to the greens they would lose all of their seats (many directly to the greens).

I was hoping she would to shake up the debates if nothing else. Now it will be the usual snoozefest - questions avoided, rhetoric spewing, etc.

It's a travesty that the Green Party is excluded from the debates. They got over 600,000 votes in the last election, they run candidates in virtually every riding and they now have a member in the House of Commons. They are only being excluded because Harper said he wouldn't participate if Elizabeth May was included. He doesn't want her there because she'll eat him alive on environmental issues.

Shouldn't we expect a more democratic process for chosing who gets to debate and shouldn't we expect better behaviour from our Prime Minister?

Harper? Your kidding right? I don't expect basic human behaviour from him, forget the encouragement of debate. He wouldn't want people to get the mistaken idea that issues have more then one side after all.

Protecting the environment we live in and where our future generations will live is an important issue which can not be ignored. Therefore she should have a chance to speak.

However (there is always a however) Left wing, tree-hugging commie pinkos with an agenda tend to hijack the debate protest and leave little time to focus on other issues

While I have no doubt Elizabeth May feels very strongly in her just cause (& I sincerely believe it is a just cause), the Green party agenda would reek economic havoc on the country if implemented.

A voice in the debate may be prudent to ensure there is some balance.
However since it a televised event perhaps not Ms May as she has a face best suited for radio

The green party was excluded because 3 of the other party leaders said they would not attend if she was there.

The conservatives have a point that she has made a deal with the liberals not to run candidates in some rideings. She says it is a leadership favour in that the opposition party does not run a candidate when the other party leader is trying to get a seat. That is correct in a byelection but has never happened in a general election.

The green party has also never elected a single member of parliment the current member who has never sat is a recycled liberal who was thrown out of the party. He needed a party to run for because an independant would not et elected in that rideing. It gets him more money and free advertising.

Nope. All parties opposed her inclusion except the Bloc.

Who knows exactly who said what, but one report said Dion didn't have a problem with May being there, but he wouldn't participate if Harper wasn't there. You're correct though in that Layton said no as well.

here and there
I think the Liberals and Conservatives should be there as they are the only parties with a hope in hell of forming a government. The NDP doesn't have a chance and Layton is just a big blow hole with nothig to lose - promise the world (kind of like Bob Rae when he won in Ontario) and doesn't have to worry about delivering - he anoys the shit out of me. The Green Party is a fuckin joke...I mean really. The only agenda is a green one -great for the environmental issue but there's a shitload more issues she can't adress intelligently. The Bloc shouldn't even be a party - how is it that in Canada we allow a Federal party to exist and be funded when their only platform is splitting the country?

Canadian politics are turning into a joke. This election should be illegal according to Harper's law...if he is found to be breaking the law by calling the election can we put him in jail and get him to pay the costs that the taxpayers will now pay?

No accountibility, no responsibility and no useful government...sounds like the same old same old to me.

We should expect better behaviour from our Prime Minister! However, this is exactly the type of behaviour I'd expect from Stephen Harper :)

Actually, Ms May had the best comment. There should be federal policy on this. Perhaps elections Canada should be the arbiter.

Egotistical blow hards eager not to be shortchanged their 30 seconds to rant and shout and for profit broadcasters deciding a fairly fundamental democratic principle of who gets heard is not the way this country should be doing things.

We will see the Rhino party remove the Rockies before Dion ever gets voted Prime Minister.

Once Dion loses, he`ll be removed, the hopefully the Liberals promote someone that isn`t a f`n moron.

Would be better if she debated Mao.

The press is trying to make a big deal of this and blame Harper ( of course , it's the press) but I mean really who gives a damn. What did her party get last election less than 5% ? The Greens haven't earned their entrance fee.

As did the Bloc. If fact the only one out of touch with the obvious (that she doesn't belong there) is Dion. As usual.
