Gump Worsley is a good example of how the team impacts the individual stats of a goalie. A comparison of his stats with the Rangers (bad team) and his stats with the Canadiens (great team) show a meaningful difference.

'King Henrik' announced he'll miss this season with a heart condition and while he hasn't definitively ruled out a return, it's difficult to imagine he can come back to the best league in the world at 39.

Price did have a battle with substance abuse - seems to have kicked it though - still performed very well through it. Well there was a couple of times he was off “injured” (cough cough - clinic stay).
Martin Brodeur - one of my all time favs - last goalie to play “old style”. Now they are all very tall and just drop into a butterfly. Granted - the pucks do come off the sticks much quicker than the old “Sherwood PMP 5030’s” .
.For the last 3 years Price has been a middle of back goalie no better. He is having a terrible year. Good news for Montreal is they will not have to protect in the expansion daft.
I would rank a distant 4th in Montreal behind Plant, Dryden and Roy.
I think Plante, Dryden and Roy all had Norris and HOF defensemen in front of them. I think Dryden had Robinson, Savard and Lapointe (and Green, Nyrop?)
I'm fairly (99.3% sure) Montreal will have to protect Price in the expansion draft, due to the NMC in his contract.
Not a chance he has won nothing with the Habs.
Ok, I looked it up. Dryden's 8 years overlapped the careers of Lapointe, Savard and Robinson and 4 years of Laperriere. 3 years of Bill Nyrop and 2 years of Don Awrey.

Bobby Orr was overrated because he played with Espo, Hodge, Bucyk, Sanderson, Pie McKenzie, Walton, Don Awrey..
Gretzky was lucky to play with Messier, Kurri, Coffey, Anderson, Fuhr, Lowe.

WOW - I think you’re just looking to “polk the bear” with probably the most.... ah hell that statement does not even deserve a response, yet I am as it’s insulting to any fan of the game.
Plante, Dryden and Roy are all HOF goalies. I think Price will make the HOF as well.
Bear in mind that Plante had Harvey and Johnson in front of him. Dryden had 5 HOF defensemen in front of him although Laperriere and Langway for only 4 and 1 year respectively. Bill Nyrop was not HOF but a solid defensive defenseman.
Two other post expansion Montreal goalies in the HOF are Rogatien Vachon and Gump Worsley. (Bunny Laroque was backup to Dryden for 5 of Dryden's 8 years.)
It is SOP (standard operating procedure) for that other poster. He had no clue we were comparing Price to other great Montreal goalies like Roy, Dryden and Plante. Orr and Gretzky are not goalies and never played for Montreal.
