Is there any way to tell who texting apps with a hundred percent accuracy?

The closest thing to good advice I got was from someone who essentially is just guessing. They really don't know a hundred percent if someone's using a texting app, they're just making an educated guess.

It was my understanding that there are better ways to do this. Maybe I'm asking the wrong crowd, but if anyone knows for sure how to do this I am interested. I have already heard the half assed explanations.

There are lists that show which carrier the number is assigned to and if it's iristel then it's an app. Somebody is surely going to tell me I'm a fool and doing it all wrong but I've never been told how to do it any other way.

She already has. I have told her 3 different times how to do it but she refuses to listen. The only way to know is by searching the carrier, but she wants some site or system that says “this is a text app” which is not going to happen for her.

For someone who wants people to learn “how to internet” she should take her own advice. But she won’t.

There are other carrier listings that are text apps as well besides Iristel. There are also VOIP systems like Fibernetics that you need to look out for.

Searching the carrier company if you don't recognize it is also a good idea as you will be able to determine if the number is safe for whatever you are requiring it for. Or just go with what you know for sure. This is why I disclaim on my ads that I only accept Ontario registered carriers only now. Saves me lots of issues.

The problem with only looking at the 6 numbers is sometimes it is not always accurate. Search the entire number against a carrier look up service is the best way. I say this for the people who will actually listen. Since I have already explained this to the OP 3 times before.
