Didn't your mother teach you that if you don't have anything to say, don't say anything at all?

I don't know TQM, and I suspect that you don't either... he may be a real wackjob... or not.. either way, I don't see why his statement calling for someone to stop Mugabe should warrant such harsh reaction..

We watched a million die in Rwanda and still 99% can't find it on a map, don't know why this would be much different.

Mbeki's support for his "old friend"

is fairly disgusting.

But so is the world's tolerance for this.

It is an african problem. The old black movements are as tight as a
ducks ass. The only way to fix it is to put enough pressure on South
Africa and the other regimes in the African Union.

Human Rights abuse

is a world problem.

Human Rights abusers are bred through tolerance of human rights abusers. It's that simple.

So, do you want the EU to send a military force to close down Guantanamo?

So what does this mean

Military action is justified in Zimbabwe and Darfur but not in oil producing countries? Then again there is oil in Sudan so does that rule out Darfur as well?

Good. And in Africa, the way to get rid of Mugabe is to put pressure on
primarily South Africa.

disagree to some extent.

Pressure has been being put on Mugabe for years.

When that doesn't work you need to escalate. (And it shouldn't have been allowed to go this far....)

That is exactly what I said in my post. pressure on Mugabe is meaningless. he just expelled all the foreign aid organizations.

The only way, IMO, is to pressure South Africa. They need the west.

Punishing someone

for not punishing someone is, to say the least, an interesting concept.

Punishing someone for supporting someone evil is accepted, isn't it?
I think that is why Nato invaded Afghanistan.

As long as he thinks no one will stop him, he'll look to get away with murder. Literally.
Yet you still 'sit back and let this happen' from behind your keyboard instead of going over there and doing something about it!
You are not calling yourself a coward! ...... Are you?....;)

danmand,

There's a moral difference between actively supporting an evil regime and not wanting to take action against that regime. Both might be wrong, but they aren't the same offence.

The former government in Afghanistan fully supported bin Laden. I don't believe South Africa is arming Zimbabwe or funding it's military.
