Teams are rotating at least 9 players, some even 11. The Raptors going with 8 so early in the season is the concern - it's not sustainable. An injury to Lowry or Siakam and they are toast.
Never fear 905 is here. We have the best developmental program in the NBA. I'm not worried.

It's happened, I'm paying more attention to the Raptors than the Leafs. Btw does Pascal have a hot sauce on the market? I have a recipe for him - for a decent cut of course. Some of the ingredients: habanero, chipotle and dark chocolate.

The real test is coming over the next week. A date in Milwaukee on Saturday, then next weekend we got Laker, Clippers and Trailblazers. Hell..most of the teams are a threat this year.

They'll start to get other guys in the mix soon and be at 10 or 11.

I'm sure Powell will come around. Team looks good enough to compete for the East.
1) Powell had a decent game(after a few of us dissed him) 7 for 10 with 3 for 5 from 3 point range 19 points in 29 minutes Need that and more from him.

2) In order for them to compete for 82 games, at least 2 guys, currently sitting, have to step up and show they can play meaningful minutes. This team will burn out if they continue to play 8 guys game in and game out.

3)Siakim just keeps getting better! How high is his upside?

Mafuzzy Chef went mafury on the Kings with that dunk and flex. I'm loving OG's development, he gets better with every game he plays. He was asked about his appendectomy, he said missing out on the playoffs broke his heart but he had to learn to walk again and it took time. He is a diamond in the rough.

Speaking of which, with a minority government, there will be very little chance of restarting free trade talks between Canada and South Africa. Even so, I don't see it happening. Canada has the largest reserves of diamonds anywhere in the world. No American team can offer a Championship Ring like the Raptors have. When Kawhi gets his ring on Dec 11, his eyes are going to pop!

Should have been a blow out.....wasn't! That lack of depth really hurts. Lets see what happens when they finish the road trip, that should give everyone an idea how big the dump may be at the trade deadline.

The thing with this ring, you can never wear it anywhere. It's too big. Many times you see ex-players wearing there rings during certain events, but you can't wear this thing. Having said that, I don't think Michael Jordan has ever worn any of his 6 rings at any time.

Lotta bling. Agree with BBL, ring will spend a lot of time in a trophy case or safety deposit box.

The Raptors went 5 deep on their bench, only 2 players dressed who did not play.

Random sampling, from last night's 9 games, let's see what other clubs did....

Knicks, lost by 20, everyone played (7 bench players)
Pistons, won by 20, went 6 deep on the bench

Wizards, lost by 15, went 6 deep
Pacers, won by 15, went 5 deep

Bulls, won by 20, went 8 (all) deep
Hawks, lost by 20, went 7 deep

Kings, lost by 4, went 5 deep
Raptors, won by 4, went 5 deep

Warriors, lost by 17, went 4 deep
Rockets, won by 17, went 5 deep

Timberwolves, lost by 16, went 6 deep
Grizzlies, won by 16, went 6 deep

Magic, lost by 1, went 5 deep
Mavericks, won by 1, went 7 deep

76'ers, lost by 2, went 5 deep
Jazz, won by 2, went 4 deep

Bucks, won by 5, went 6 deep
Clippers, lost by 5, went 5 deep

I agree. OG is looking great in almost all facets of the game, and getting better. His defense is great. He's deflecting passes, blocking shots, shadowing his marks like a blanket, but he's getting some power offense in and he's shooting over 50% from the field and from 3. Too early still to make much of shooting percentages, but that hustle on the defense will always be there. Lastly his free throw % is hurting for now.

I think OG might have benefited the most from being around Leonard last year, and he's the one guy that could model his game around Leonards.

First when we are talking about depth we are talking about players coming off the bench that can contribute more than minutes. You could come off the bench and contribute minutes. 2 players Ibaka and Powell came off the bench and actually performed. Thomas, looked like he might be able to help 11 min 2 for 3 from the 3 and a couple of free throws. Davis 7 min0(ZERO) points 5 personals Boucher 5 min. also 0 points. In past years the team 4-5 deep and when the bench came in the look changed, their was speed defense guys like VanVleet that could score and lift a team, the quality of play didn't fall off. Against Sacramento you should be able to go deep into the bench and give your starters a good blow, not have your starters on the floor at game's end hanging on for a win.

I thought Matt Thomas held his own on defense too. Definitely not gonna win any awards, but if he plays hard enough to stay on the floor, he'll either make shots or spread the D.

I was at the game, several rows behind the bench, and was just about to give Terrence Davis some friendly jabbing for fouling out(6 fouls in 7 minutes). :) but then they reversed the last call. Too bad for him, they had sat him down and ended up staying there.

They lost Kawhi and Danny Green but did not bring in any quality replacements. It's Masai resting on his laurels. Not good enough.
not only did they not replace Leonard and Green, but JV and D Wright are gone too(Yes, I know we gave them up for Gasol). Lot of holes to fill and the off season signings did not even come close to being meaningful.

What moves would you have made?
Sometimes the best move is to not make any moves.

My feeling is that Masai knows this team better than anybody and is cold hearted enough to make any move for the betterment of the team. We saw that last year with him moving out perennial fan favourite DeRozen.

I trust if he does make a move it will be very strategic or maybe he trusts in the development of what he already has.

that was an amazing first half. OG and Siakam were lights out. Everyone brought their A game til the injuries started and things got ugly. My guess is Lowry is fine, but we're going to need back up at centre for Gasol. not sure if anyone we have is ready to step up big
