It will end at 2:00 PM EST today
CNN reported last night 6:00 PM would be the end but they weren't sure if it was EST or Pacific time....:eyebrows:

As some have alluded to earlier in the thread...it's not really the END end....but the beginning of the end.....the RAPTURE....

Wonder if you are allowed to bring an umbrella if it's raining???

If they DO go...I am taking their stuff...LOL

Yepper!

The Rapture is upon us. God will be beaming up true believers to join him in heaven.

Or so sayeth Harold Camping, an 89-year-old California based, fundamentalist radio broadcaster who claims he arrived at May 21, 2011, as being doomsday after crunching the Biblical numbers.

Harold Camping was on CNN last night telling all to watch the graves in the cemeteries as all the dead will be arising in a couple hours!....

He kinda looks like he just did, so maybe he's got something there.

the darker side of the end.....

This actually is very, very humorous,,,but lets look at the very serious turn that this hoax(and it is that) could take.

A unknown number of people have quit their jobs, given away their belongings, gotten rid of their suport circles and basically decided this is the end.

In their minds they literally believe have nothing else to live for and believe a better world is just on the other side..Sound Familiar?(Hint: Islamic Extremists)

Say this Harold Camping, a 89 year old truthsayer to his followers proclaims"There are demons here on earth.Your destiny is to dispatch as many of them to hell before the rapture as you can....go forth."

Can you think of a more devouted group where a strong minority may actually take his proclaimation to heart? They're followed him this far.

Couldn't happen? Please google"Jonestown Massacre" for a bit more follow up on this.Historically, messianic figures do one of two things. They let history and scrutiny pass them by with little fanfare.....while others......Make their own destiny.

Another quick note.If this man was a Muslim.....North America would be locked down right now.The only difference between Islamic Fanaticism and Christian? Follow through.

All these "end of the world" scares are just schemes designed to generate income for religious groups.

Ever notice a spike in donations when this shit happens?

I definitely notice my neighbours and friends going to church more often...

Harold Camping wrong – again – about 'The Rapture'

By Brad Knickerbocker,
Christian Science Monitor, May 21, 2011

Hello? Hello?

Anybody there? Are we still here?

Oh, whew! For a moment there I thought Judgment Day actually had come today, as California preacher and religious radio broadcaster Harold Camping had predicted. And I’m really, really not ready.

There’s a lot I still have to do. Like organize my sock drawer and change the strings on my banjo. Not to mention apologizing for some – er – indiscretions that have been weighing on me since forever. (Which have nothing to do with the banjo.)

I mean, if there really is going to be an “end times” or “the rapture” or whatever, I definitely don’t want to be left behind. So whoever’s listening out there, I do believe, I do believe, I do believe! And I promise to be good from now on.

But it looks like we’re all off the hook … for now, anyway.

Not all are RIFTS.
Back in 1994 believe there was another one of these 'end of times' rapture events scheduled. At work there was a semi-pastor christian fundy bible thumper who was always reading his bible at work. He told us all to repent! The End Times were Nigh, he proclaimed. He sold all his stuff and gave away his money because of this and even quit his job!

Luckily for him, the company took him back the following day and gave him his job back .....:D

Can you be half-baked? Who gets half-drunk?

I know a bible thumper mechanic that did not preach to his clients, but would cheat them by doing shoddy work with inferior parts so they would come back more often. He would preach to everyone else, and call women in skimpy clothing whores and anyone that was not a born again Christian a sinner. He gave away all his money because the end was coming, he also burned his complete unopened Beatles album collection because it was the devils music.

Now he is broke and sorry. Maybe he is waiting for the end tonight?

My head feels like the end of the world today but that might be because I was out drinking until 6am and not from the rapture.
