Do any of you actually think that the US will declare war on Iraq? It's not going to happen. So, what's the point of disallowing this surrender stuff?
In fact, I'll make a wager. Anyone who thinks the US will officially declare war, post here. If we do, I will provide a standard hour (up to $200 Canadian) with the SP of your choice for the first 10 who post. If we don't, well, then, I've got 10 good times coming (heh)!

Iraq was once a French colony. I don't know if that's significant but it's an interesting co-incidence.

You're right Zog and it's not a coincidence and, yes, it is quite significant. Ever since Napoleon's great retreat from Moscow, France has been in a surrender mode. Nobody knows how to surrender better than the French. Like everything else, they have it down to an art form and I'm sure they passed on those skills to the Iraqis. At the French Military Academy it is required that all officers take Surrender 101 as a required course! This is a nation with a collective inferiority complex and it permeates their like all over the world. How else can you explain the actions of Bernard Laundry. But I digress and that's a separate topic...!
