Many modern Japanese have switched to a westernized diet and are not interested in cooking traditional Japanese food. In the GTA I have met several Japanese women who cannot cook and do not want to even learn and yes eat the meat of four legged animals over fish. Sushi and sashimi are only consumed rarely and mostly at festivals or celebrations. Table cooking in real Japanese restaurants in the GTA is rare but common in Korean and Chinese restaurants. Because they are so few Japanese in Toronto, relatively to other Asians, there is no market for Japanese restaurants for Japanese like say the Time Square area for Chinese.Japanese religion has a very strong taboo against the eating of four legged creatures. Plus the obvious fact that things like pigs or cows are not really widespread on the islands.
It is pathetic what most of Toronto refers to as "Japanese food"
Chinese posing as Japanese restaurants abound, as do the frozen sushi places and fusion type restaurants
Why don't the OP make a coherent sentence first before we all fall over each other trying to guess and help?
