Drop in and visit ol' Gibby.
oh yeah, he lives in San Antonio. Well, I didn’t buy ticket protection for the Mariners verse the Rangers on Sunday September 24th, so I have to show up I put pressure on myself lol. On the bright side from Detroit, it is roughly 17 hours to Arlington. And we are leaving Toronto at 1AM on Friday September 22nd. I just have to figure out what time i’ll pull over for a nap. Any mathematicians here to explain how this can work? I actually have tickets to the Jays versus the Yankees on September 28th and I’ve just transferred them to a special friend :)

I am going with family to a concert and to visit some friends for four days in San Antonio. I only agreed to this if I could see the baseball game in Arlington, and catch a touring former Broadway Mrs. Doubtfire show on our way back. As I drive across the continent like a madman.

The Jays would be better off with the #6 playoff seed than the #5. They have a better chance of advancing against the Twins-Orioles line than against Rays-Astros. Baltimore has nobody of note with any post season experience, and the Twins haven't won a playoff series since 2002.

Jansen out for season after under going hand surgery, that sucks, he was a clutch home run hitter.

Poillievre Jr. back in lineup tonight.

A howler of a film called The Winning Team, was broadcast by TCM.

It's about the haunted life of HOF pitcher Grover Cleveland Alexander. He was one of the most dominant pitchers in the game, he was also a bi-polar alcoholic. Then he was sent to WW I where he developed shell shock and epilepsy. He set the record for most wins by a rookie with 28 in 1911. He won 30 games three years in a row. His biggest claim to immortality is during the 1926 World Series. He pitched two complete game victories for the St Louis Cardinals, the second one evened the series at 3-3. Then he went out aand got shitfaced drunk. For game 7 he had a massive hangover when the starting pitcher develop a blister in the 7th Inning - with the bases loaded. . Player Manager Rogers Hornsby needed a pitcher he could trust, so he called in Alexander. The haunted pitcher came in and stoned the powerful Yankees for three innings. The series ended when Alexander goaded Babe Ruth into attempting to steal second. With Lou Gehrig at the plate, he signaled at his catcher that he was throwing the ball outside. Ruth went for it and catcher Bob O'Farrell picked him off at second.

Cardinals 4 Yankees 3

The reason why The Winning Team is such a howler, it starred Doris Day and Ronald Reagan as Alexander, with those two leads I'm assuming the film was thoroughly whitewashed.

The thought of the Bambino trying to steal a base in a clutch playoff game is probably the most bizarre part of that entire story.

No I have a hybrid Toyota Sienna with fabulous stop and go traffic radar cruise control, and auto steering. I get in the fast lane, choose a speed over the limit, but not enough to get a ticket….. and I cruise with my Spotify and SiriusXM. I got some kick ass seats for the Mariners versus the Rangers on Sunday the 24th. And I didn’t get any ticket protection, so I better show up. Lol.

crazy hot right now in Texas ….today Arlington reached a high of 42° They better have air-conditioning in that ballpark.

Retractable roof.......Huh I didn't know that
Yeah, its a brandnew dome stadium (with air-conditioning)
They built it exactly for that reason, its too hot and humid in the summers to watch day games in Dallas.
Miami Marlins stadium was built for the same reason

Imagine how hot a game was in the 50s?

This is so crazy I can’t even believe I’m going to do this. Leaving 1 AM in the morning on Saturday the 23rd, and hopefully parked in the stadium parking lot at 12 PM on the 24th. I have zigzags all over the US this summer. LA …..New York (Long Island)….. and now Texas. Making up for lost time from the pandemic of no traveling. I’ve never been to so many baseball stadiums in my life.
