his secret is that he has trained himself to buzz before he finishes thinking of the right answer, i.e. speed first, correctness second.

It's no big secret. It's just that he's better at it than anyone else.

As well look at how many people got kicked off after 5 shows in the previous 30 years. Granted, I'm extremely impressed and am watching whenever I can, but he's not necessarily the best ever. The others never had a chance to show how long they could keep going.

If so, when will they be back so that we can follow Ken's progress?

New season starts in 6 weeks, as they said on the last show. It's been like watching a regular series: Jeapordy!, starring Alex Trebek and Ken Jennings.

I wonder what he and his wife would think if they knew he was water-cooler conversation amongst hobbyists.


Oh yeah, I wanna see him go out by pulling a Cliff Claven.

There was once a question on Jeopardy asking for the name of the Jewish baseball pitcher who had won the Cy Young award four times during the 1960's, [Sandy Koufax, of course]. One of the contestants answered: "Who is Hank Aaron?". Alex pursed his lips to suppress a laugh, and said "I'm sorry, Hank Aaron was not a pitcher".
