I really hate to make assumptions about somebody I have never met, but I'm going to to guess that you never lived under authoritarian rule. So with all due respect, your opinion on comparing Trump to somebody like Mao, Xi, Putin, the Kims means absolutely...

If you read my post, I want strong opposition to whatever party is in power. As a matter of fact, when Biden said he would defend Taiwan on 3 separate occasions - I applauded that (even if he had no idea what he was saying.) When Pelosi visited Tibet and Taiwan, I applauded that. When I heard Pelosi visited Tiananmen Square in 1991, I admired that very much.

What happened to Jimmy Kimmel is not even close to censorship that occurs in China. Kimmel still had rights to freely to speak his mind while he was suspended. Again I will remind you.

Real censorship

Keep defending censorship.

Wot, Donato is confusing him with Che?

There are two places where you must never fart, the shower and the dinner table.

Has Sissy Boy Jesse Watters called for Civil War again?

And as for ad revenue... you show your lack of understanding of how decisions are made in major global corporations. Or that 'ad revenue' , especially short term blips is hardly the motivation of the execs and Boards who make thee decisions. Market share, views, and mostly share/stock prices are but a few of the big drivers.
I really don't know what you are trying to say here. I have a hunch you actually know more about business than is displayed in this post.

Revenue in this case from advertising is greatly preeminent over all other drivers. Let's include YouTube revenue that is derived from advertising. As far as blips, ABC will likely assess where the Kimmel show is in terms of advertising revenue (not just ratings) vis-à-vis production costs after year-end. You know why I know this? Because this is what every American corporation does on an annual basis.

To be clear, I am not saying the Kimmel show will or should be cancelled. Some of the lefties hear have to stop defending anything or everything that has even a hint of challenging their idealistic view.

I think Kimmel will benefit from Colbert leaving the air. It's possible his show will become more political. I don't know if he can hold on to the audience that just wants to laugh and the part of the audience that wants to laugh but also wants straight-up political commentary at 11:30 pm.

If they needed to assuage the audience they would have stuck to their decision and would have said so in their statement.
I thought Disney is keeping Kimmel on the air because he is profitable. Probably profitable by my metric and also profitable by your abstract definition that requires an incredible imagination to understand.

If you include youtube, then Kimmel is rocking it and the networks are going to be super happy.
trump gave Kimmel a massive boost and put state censorship on full debate.

That's all fine and dandy, but all the Lefties on Terb are trying to argue that Trump was behind the cancellation of Kimmel
Oh, but big bad Orange Man posted some mean things about our hero Jimmy Kimmel.

Wyatt, just checking if you agree with Teddy? It's not a gotcha question, it's just trying to see if we are on the same page.

Yes, but I would take it further in a Rand Paul fashion. The FCC's regulatory relationship with public airwaves broadcasters is an outdated relic of the past. Most people watching Kimmel and ABC are watching it over private platforms.

Again I don't want Kimmel taken off the air.
You guys need a show that allows you to share your political frustration at the end of a long, hard day. ;)

I know you two can read so here we go

Right from the horse's mouth

" "He tried his best to cancel me," Kimmel said. "Instead he forced millions of people to watch the show. That backfired bigly. He might have to release the Epstein files to distract us from this now."

Then, Federal Communications Commission (FCC) chairman Brendan Carr called for action against Kimmel, Disney and ABC, a move which has been criticised as “overreach” by the one Democrat on the FCC, Anna Gomez, and legal experts.

Again, Trump doesn't have the power to cancel Kimmel.

Trump is legally allowed to put on as much pressure as he wants though.
If Trump thinks Kimmel's jokes are in poor taste regarding Charlie Kirk, then he can voice that opinion

Voicing an opinion in Trump's case reveals thin skin, but he has taken it a step further. DO YOU NOT READ his own TrushBUllshit posts?

Its still sad that MAGA is focused on Kimmel and Kirk while ignoring trump's decline and the decline of the american economy.
trump won't fund schools, health care or americans but he'll send billions for genocide and now he's sending $20 billion to bail out Argentina's failed populist leader. A guy who did everything that trump is trying to do to america.

No he cannot.
That would be a violation of the first amendment.
1st amendment only gives citizens protection from the government so they are not imprisoned for free speech.
Trump has every right to voice his opinion of Kimmel and put pressure on him to be cancelled, he just cannot order him to be fired.
Trump has freedom of speech as well, didnt you know??

Don't mention genocide when referring to Trump since your side didn't go out and vote for Kamala. You had a helping hand in giving BIBI everything he ever wanted.
