Anyway from what I got from the video, they asked her if she spoke a South Asian language and did not hire her as she did not?. May be the workers were all Indian and couldn't speak English, so they wanted someone who could speak their language. I dont know. Don't we see job ads for specific language requirements? Could have been discrimination, could have been a practical consideration for a requirement. Who knows.

Non-white presenting immigrants are very regularly discriminated against in employment by using "Canadian experience" reasons. It is documented that if your name sounds too ethnic, you wont get interview calls and so on.

And vice-versa, read the comments for that video, great points. "Punjab only" etc, etc.

But regardless of who does the discrimination, it is discrimination and they need to be held accountable.

There is nothing to save and I have never said anything different. Just yesterday I was telling someone that systemic racism is in every country including India. But in THIS country, when discrimination does happen, the perp usually tends to be white and the victim usually tends to be non-white. But of course there are cases where others do it too.
