TO - aka The Big Smoke
While I do believe that the medical profession is laced with kickbacks to the pharmaceutical profession, and legitimate practitioners are selling out to big pharm, I also believe conventional medicine is the best way to go. Antibiotics are still the best way to fight bacteria. Chemo is still your best bet against cancer. Raising your PH level in your diet will not raise the PH level in your body. Long before that happens your Pancreas will regulate your body at the last stages of digestion. Changing you PH balance would result in illness and death long before you fought off any cancer. Kevin Trudeau has been been indicted twice by the FDA. He brags about it like it makes him a hero against an evil authority. But the FDA is the authority that spares gullible people the agony of buying snake oil cures, just to get sicker, or paying spoon-bender surgeons for removing chicken guts from the palm of their hand in the place of real surgery.

No I disagree. Since I started taking vitamins, amino acids and antioxidants 10 years ago I have gotten sick once, have tons of energy and I look 10 years younger.
Trudeau greatly exaggerates the benefits of supplements however. He claims that it can cure herpes which it cant.
He also claims it can cure cancer which is actually true in some cases.
Canadian singer Ronni Hawkins was cured of pancreatic cancer after he took a bunch of herbs.

In some cases, but not all, just changing your outlook on life is all that is required to feel all of the above, but when you have a disease, truly, there is no replacement for medicine, even if just for a true diagnosis, and yes that can be wrong sometimes. There is no 100% anything. There are some good people out there doing good work for natural cures,it is unfortunate that these shysters rise to the top,if only briefly, cause it eventually destroys the credibility of this non-regulated industry.Remember, the cures they have are the same as prescription medicine, only natural, meaning probability of side effects are nill.Prescription medicine is those same ingrediants, but is manufactured in much higher doses, which do have side effects.
The British just released a study and found giving patients a placebo (2 a harmless, unmedicated preparation given as a medicine to a patient merely to humor him, or used as a control in testing the efficacy of another, medicated substance) had a better overall result then any naturalpath's.
Will try and find that link,it was on TV last night.

Like most topics, the truth seems to lie somewhere in the middle. Kevin Trudeau sounds believeable. Women say that he's good looking. He gives enough truths to increase his credibility and then tries to reel people in with his Him against the Pharmaceutical Giants and the FDA stories. Who knows, he may have a point. There has been lots of discussion on how people within the medical profession don't want to find a cure for Cancer. I don't buy it and my daughter is living proof.

I agree with Esco. I too take vitamins, Greens Plus, Essential EFA (omega 3 and 6 source). I was having trouble getting a good nights sleep about three years ago and now I sleep like a baby.

I had major trouble with Erectile disfunction and used natural cures. Jelqing and Kegels are the answer, they take time (not money). Now I have control and have increased my size by 2" and I'm no spring chicken.

I tried hand creams for a good 10 years to deal with my hang nails and dry hands. Went to a doctor that specialized in skin care. He put my on an over the counter medication. It didn't work. An old friend of the family recommended straight Vaseline. I've been using it for three years, applying it once a day, my hands are like that of a teenager, no hang nails, no rough skin, no dryness.

I was into a bad crash about 7 years ago. Spent 3 months recuperating. The specialist at Sunnybrook told me that I would always be on pain killers and would need a cane, due to the shearing of my two of my vertebrae (sp). I did crunches, Pilates and now mountain bike, downhill ski and have no backpain.

As I said, the truth lies somewhere in the middle, but there are many natural cures that DO WORK.

New York State Consumer Protection Board
News Release, August 5, 2005
The New York State Consumer Protection Board (“CPB”) is warning consumers that a fast-selling book by Kevin Trudeau does not contain the “natural cures” for cancer and other diseases that Trudeau is promising in a nationwide television ad campaign.

The CPB says Trudeau is not only misrepresenting the contents of his self-published book, he is also using false endorsements to encourage consumers to buy “Natural Cures They Don’t Want You to Know About.”

“This book is exploiting and misleading people who are searching for cures to serious illnesses,” said Teresa A. Santiago, Chairperson Teresa A. Santiago. “What they discover is page after page after page of pure speculation -- not the cures for cancer and other diseases that are promised.”

“From cover to cover, this book is a fraud. The front cover makes false promises about ‘natural cures’ that are in the book, while the back cover includes false endorsements, including one from a doctor who died three years before the book was even written,” Chairperson Santiago said.

"I am sure Kevin believes this is a conspiracy!!! Just like the people holding ack on the 100 miles per gallon carberator.

I believe in some natural cures, but Trudeau is a scam scum!!! He does not have the cure for cancer. Imagine how many desperate pople with cancer are buying this and get nothing.

Anyone else have natural cures that worked for them?

Natural Cures?

Yes, go from eating fast food, overly processed food or a poorly 'balanced' (whatever that means these days) diet, to eating less processed food, taking vitamins and other supplements, naturally you are going to feel better. Just the piece of mind you get believing that you are doing something for yourself will make you feel better. The placebo effect is an amazing thing.

One of the latest cures I have seen around lately is called low intensity laser therapy. A lot of chiropractors are using it. Seems it is supposed to help with inflammatory processes. It's about $40/session. You must sign up for 12 sessions. So it's ~500 bucks to see even if it may help. From the bit of research I've done, once laser light hits your skin, it turns into basically just visible light. There is no laser light actually making it into your body. I say it's just the placebo effect yet, some people say it helps.

It certainly is helping chiropractors fill their bank accounts.

My mom stuffed me with home grown vegetables for years when I grew up and insisted on finishing every plate.

And see how I turned out! :)
