The doctor is in
It’s a nice spot... very laid back and relaxed, a bit eccentric. It’s a bit of a drive as you go through all the keys until you get to the end (mile zero). I stayed on Big Pine Key and took a day trip.

Thanks. Can you just fly in and avoid any driving from ??????? Also, where do you stay? Are there hotels?

"Even at the median for the current IPCC 5 of 60 cm or 20 inches, the prospects do not look good for Key West’s inhabitability much beyond 2060 to 2080."

2060 is only 40 years away so this could happen in the lifetime of anyone who is currently 0-40 or 50 years old.

I've been there many times, it's my favourite vacation spot!
If you're going for the first time, rent a car and drive from Miami or Fort Lauderdale.
The views are outstanding. :)
Key West is laid back, perfect spot to relax.

You can fly in, but the drive is half of the fun. Plenty of hotels and motels, I've never reserved ahead. Of course it's March Break.

Love key west! Go, enjoy the jimmy buffet lifestyle. Lots of bars, try Amigos for square tacos after last call.

Fantasy fest is a hoot. Can’t recommend it enough.

After the drinking and fucking, do yourself a favor and scuba dive the Vandenberg. Huge ship sunk a mile off the coast.

Definitely recommend the drive from Miami. Interesting drive for sure. I was there during a long-weekend and it felt like Mardi Gras. Pretty crazy party scene. But this was way back in the day. Not sure if people still party like this, especially with all the phone cameras (i.e. back then, these group of ladies were on a balcony showing off their snatch). Topless bars, etc.

I think I'll wait until October when they hold Fantasy Fest. The authorities have clamped down on the nudity in recent years but I think it is still worthwhile. (Apparently, the nudity police are using magnifying glasses and flashlights to ensure people are adhering to the no nudity laws.)

Guys. thanks for all the feedback.

Did the drive from Miami last summer. Def bucket list material. Recommend taking a night about halfway down (say, around islamorada or tavernier to enjoy some beach and local fare. Really cool vibe.
