1) Sundins' house for sale....I mentioned this in another post. What does this mean?

2) Owen Nolan settlement or loss in arbitration hearing could cost $6.0 - $12.0 million.

3) Given (#2) above, if this is the cost, does Fergie Jr then lose his job (my bet? YES)?

4) Are they therefore, given (#'s 2&3) above waiting to announce/sign Paul Maurice until they first have a General Manager hired?

5) If (#4) above is true, who is the best fit for a new GM?

6) Will they reduce the cost of my tickets as an apology for putting us through all of this? Or will they send over one of the Hot Platinum lounge hostesses to give me a titfuck and finish with a BBBJTCIM??

He wants to end his career with Joe Sakic in Colorado. Colorado will probably trade Tanguay and Liles for him.

Owen will be signing autographs at the SRM party tonight.

No. ESPN is reporting that John Henry Ferguson just signed a 3 year extension.

ESPN is reporting that Paul Maurice is going to be Vancouver's next head coach. Look for the Leafs to hire Randy Sutter.

David Conte.

Neither. They'll give you a Leaf frisbee and a card thanking you for your support. They will then increase ticket prices by 10%.

David Conte.
I can't see Colorado making that deal.

Today's Sun or Star (I forget which) has Peddie stating Ferguson's contract will not be extended at this time, but maybe next May.

I think Conte would be an excellent choice.

It seems to have been established that Mats will stay out his contract. Maurice is on the record that he will give Mats Brind'amour type minutes (23 - 26/night) and will listen to his Captain more. What we may see is Toronto taking a run at a Sakic type of guy.

The Goalie free agent pool is good this year too.....just in time to get a solid #1 or platoon guy.....Cujo playing 45 or so games with Aubin picking up the rest sounds good.......

Fergie Jr is also playing for a contract this year.......he is what you might call a motivated GM......

Replacing a 41 year old goalie with a 39 year old goalie, would not be a good move on the Leafs part. If the Leafs are to move forward and make an attempt to improve, signing a goalie (such as Joseph) whose best years are behind him, is definitely not the answer!

I am not sure myself who I would like to see in net for the Leafs…but I would like to see them acquire a younger goalie!

Ture Joseph is 39, but his health isn't a question, so I wouldn't mind seeing him in Toronto in a platoon situation. However, there are still the Manny Legace rumours out there that Manny would like to play for the Leafs if he isn't back in Detroit. Manny didn't have a great playoff, but he's probably the best UFA out there, unless Luongo becomes available.

On the Sundin note, it appears he going to stick around, but he wants some more say about player moves. Now normally you don't want to give a player too much say, but Mats is the captain and a class act all the way, let him have a voice, just not decision-making powers.

Just curious here. Is that amount to be applied to the 2006/2007 cap? I really never knew the answer to this. Is it applied to any years leaf cap? Or, is it just an amount to be paid in a seperate situation that has nothing to do with the cap?

If they rule that Nolan is to be paid by the TML for last season, how do they apply it?

I read somewhere that it wouldn't count against the cap, I believ it was on TSN I read it....

The Hammer
Luongo is a free agent next off-season. With Florida re-signing the likes of Jokinen, cant see them letting Luongo go via a trade or free agency...

I hate to break it to you that bleed blue and white but here it is... SUNDIN SUCKS !. He is the weak link of the Leafs. He is suppose to be a superstar but is instead some whiney swede who looks like a gay porn star. He is more interested in holding than winning Stanley Cups. Oh how he can divert the shame. He does score, but only in meaningless games. He is one fucking idiot. Toronto is so desperate for a real superstar that they end up with Mats. What the fuck is next ? Knight Rider as coach ?

I think the last position the Leafs need to worry about in player acquisition is the position of goalie. The Leafs are going nowhere any time soon. When I say this, I mean they have no shot at Lord Stanley's Cup any time soon. The Leafs are young, let these kids learn to gell together. We have 2 very young talented goalies in the system in Poggie & Rask, and we have Aubin to do the job right now until one of Poggie or Rask is ready. The Leafs do NOT need a new goalie. They need either more young talent up front, or more importantly better "D".

What pisses me off about the Leafs is players like Jagr and Thorton go for nothing, but the Laughs are nowhere to be found. Give them an over the hill injury prone free agent and they are all over it. Go figure.

but, that's their key to success!

(success isn't on the scoreboard... rather for MLSE, it's the satisfaction of how leaf fans get all gooey inside and excited and hot and wet over these signings when they first occur)
