I think the Leafs can beat Florida. I'm glad the Leafs, don't have to play Boston. I think the Leafs should stick with the same lineup, they did in game 7 against Tampa. Keep Holl, Lafferty, and Aston-Reese, in the pressbox.
Yes I believe they beat Florida.

I think they will face Carolina in the conference finals.

Of all the teams I watched this year the Hurricanes impressed me the most.

Leafs probably get stopped there....Hope not though. Would love to see the city rejoice with them in the finals.

I see this Leaf team as being very opportunistic. They might not out play you but they seem to generate high quality scoring chances and they take advantage of that. They just need enough goaltending to give them a chance. This is exactly what they have gotten thus far from Samsonov.

Both Krejci and Bergeron played but they had injury issues. Panthers players of significance look to be fully healthy.

That's why I prefer the Bruins and it would be so sweet to finally beat them. Beware of a full healthy Panthers team, this won't be an easy series with the Pathers.

... but you would still want the Bruins even if they were fully healthy

When TB won the Presidents Trophy with a great record they were swept by Columbus. Why? Because Hedman was injured and didn't play.

I agree. The Leafs got lucky and don’t have to face the Bruins who have beat the Leafs every time. But, Panthers have a few top talents e. g. Mathew Tkchuk. The Leafs goalie and defenseman all have to play well.

Paul Maurice will be the most motivated Panther to beat the Leafs. He’s been holding a grudge against the Leafs since he was let go years ago.

When Montreal last won the cup there were 6 upsets in round 1 so most of the favourites got knocked out early.
Montreal over Quebec, Toronto over Detroit, and LA over Calgary were all upsets.
Boston and Chicago were 1st in their Division and were swept 4 straight.
Pittsburgh and Vancouver who were 1st in the 2 other Divisions were knocked out in the 2nd round.
So this made for an easier road for Montreal. There was also the Montreal assisted refereeing of Kerry Fraser.
Montreal that year also won 10 OT games. Leafs have already won 3 OT games.

He was also fired by Carolina ... twice
Carolina won their cup in between stints of Paul Maurice so that should hurt even more.
Carolina could very well play in the Eastern Conference Finals this year.

Seattle and Florida won't be pushovers. They were good enough to beat top teams like Boston and Colorado, they will be challenging to beat in round 2.

Knies pass to Tavares.
That is a patented Knies play.
Get body position to protect the puck then look up to make a pass.
The OT play was on Kucherov but he's made the same play on Bogosian.

The first goal where Cirelli stripped him of the puck he was expecting body contact.
It's the type of play Matthews, Marner, and Nylander uses to create a turnover.
After this play though he adjusted and made subsequent good plays along those same boards to protect the puck and make a pass.

Injuries:
Not taking anything away from Seattle and Florida but Landeskog,, who is Colorado's captain, was injured and didn't play and we already know of Boston's injuries. Last year when Colorado won the cup Landeskog had 11 goals and 22 points in 20 games. Colorado only lost 4 games to win the cup. For TB Cernak was injured and Hedman missed a game.
This really is the only series for Toronto in the Matthews era where Leafs had no injuries or suspensions to key players.
The suspension to Bunting actually helped the Leafs.
