Toronto Maple Leafs have traded 34 year old D Ken Klee for prospect Alexander Suglobov - Suglobov has 25 goals 23 assists in 51 games for the Devils farm team (Albany River Rats). Not a bad pick up.
I believe Richardson is also a free agent at the end of the year, this was just a pick up to plug the hole that will be left when Klee leaves. Strictly a patch job just until the end of the year.crazyhorse33 said:looks like a good move, seems like they are picking up a young talented player with some potential and also making room for the young defencemen to be in the lineup next year, although I am still kinda shaking my head at the Richardson move
excellent point, for sure!ottawasub said:JFJ made a good move going to Jersey for a prospect. They do a better job drafting and developing young players than any other team.

I disagree. This is just exchanging one old pylon for another. I never though Richardson was Starting-6 defensman material for any NHL team. He got fast-tracked into the league because of his size, and teams kept him around hoping the years of experience would eventually lead to something, but his development has been slow and minimal.Toronto Passions said:This Klee move was an interesting one. I guess this trade along with adding Luke Richardson means Toronto is not throwing in the towel on the year just yet.

Granted the Leafs are no worse for it on the ice. In his prime Klee was at least 2 levels above Richardson, but he has totally lost it over the past two years and his confidence is gone.
TML may not be throwing in the towel in their own deluded minds, but that only underscores how hopeless this management team is. This is basically the leaderhip saying " We've been going in exactly the right direction for the past couple of seasons and we ought to stick with it"
the leafs not attempting to trade Alison or a few of the other players other managers are after to try and land any of the following is, to me, Thowing In the Towel!Toronto Passions said:It looks like they are not throwing in the towel on the season just yet.....
