he landed in Chicago but before processing he voluntarily withdrew his request to enter the US .. and left before "officially" arriving.

My bet is that he's checked into Deerhurst or some other resort spa up north and is laying low til the heat dies down... that's how he's able to work out and chat with his bro. Is it reasonable for the voters to request proof of his having attended a legitimate rehabilitation facility?
The Sun thinks he might be at a place in Guelph.
If he's at Deerhurst or some other spa we'll hear about it eventually.
If he's just at 15 Windsor or sister's basement it'll take a while for the dealer videos to come out.

Until then maybe we should start another poll.

I think it would be reasonable to demand his resignation if he was not at a legitimate rehab facility. If he is simply at a "Spa" then he will have taken off an entire month of work for his vacation. If he's still on payroll (although I'm sure he's at least smart enough to make sure he isn't) then that would literally be him asking for Toronto to pay him to take a month long vacation under the guise of him needing help with his addiction.

So what, who cares. Oh wait, you do.

What's funny is everyone has been telling him to take a break, seek professional help and then return. So he takes a break and now nobody knows where he is. I'm sure Robyn Doolittle will get to the bottom of this. Hilarious!
Are you kidding? EVERYBODY cares! So do you! Otherwise, why post? You think you're going to distract us?

Actually, most people have been telling him to resign and go back to playing with his friends on his own time.

What's funny is, when he gets caught AGAIN, he SAYS he's going to rehab, which he thinks is a get-out-of-jail-free card. Then it turns out he can't leave the country to hide in his Chicago house, because his rep is catching up to him, so he disappears completely for a while.

Even funnier, some people try to pretend that we have to believe Ford, and ridicule others for ridiculing him. They pretend to be above the fray, but still want to put their little statement in there.

Ford couldn't cut rehab. He would be kicked out quickly, if he could get in, which it seems likely he can't.

Almost EVERYBODY cares about this, and not in a good way for Ford. he'll come back in a couple of weeks, and the questions will all be about whether he did actually go to rehab. None about his campaign. He'll be chased everywhere, people will be filming his every public move. He'll get caught drinking again. He'll get taped talking like a wannabe Jamacian toughguy, but it becomes clearer every time that he's just a rich boy out of control. That should be good for his re-election chances.

And THAT is hilarious! Truly.

I think that most of Ford's base now is actually those people who think that if there was enough tax cutting, they could live life like Ford does. Like the fans of urban bling rap believe that they are just that one big break away from the back yard pool and the fake boobs rubbing all over them.

Sup son, I'm livin' the dream.

I was in Usain Bolt's bar in Kingston a month ago and they had a picture up of our home boy...they want to draft him to be mayor or even Prime Minister... Betcha he re-routed to Kingston to be with his real people..
Lol. All the locals I spoke with knew about Rob. But I'm not sure that they would embrace him. They've already got a psycho lying ego maniac as PM (Simpson-Miller).

I assume he flew out of Billy Bishop so he didn't go through pre-clearance here. He landed and voluntarily withdrew...which means he was "processed" so far as being interviewed by a customs officer. He would have been told by the officer that he was being denied entry by the officer, and had the option of voluntarily withdrawing (no consequence) or appearing in a formal application where rejection would result in a record and possible restriction from future admission for a period of time.

Actually, I don't care. I would be happy if he went away for good. I'm certainly not voting for him. All we can hope for is that he pulls out of the election or loses (but not to Chow).

If I cared, I would take the trouble to actually know. But the possibility sure hasn't been considered by those who 'support' Rob by claiming what an ordinary guy he is. Like most of their 'defences' that one is amusing, though nothing can top, "at least with Rob what you see is what you get" for outta touch wishful thinking, and denying what's plain for all to see.

I don't see anything funny about someone with addictions as out of control as his in rehab. His suffering will be acute and painful. But you are right; eventually that will be known, and likely well before Rob tries to use it to rebuild his credibility. After all, it was only thanks to a year of media disclosures and public pressure that he said he'd do anything at all about his problems.

And right now, we don't actually know that he is doing anything at all.

I haven't read that he was going into rehab, he only said he was taking a break from the campaign.

I have zero sympathy for him and couldn't care less if he ever decides to get sober, he'll still be an asshole.

Rob Ford is obviously a sick man, finally seeking medical attention. He continues to sink to new lows at least with respect to his public persona. However the elements who continue to delight and trade in his demise are lower than scum.

He just needs to sink to one more low and we can leave him be. He needs to resign.

After that, I hope he joins AA , realize that this is not a month in rehab problem, and begin rebuilding his life.

He has a lot of personal work to do before he should consider a return to public service. A year or two minimum.

And ... he's "doing great" in rehab. C'mon seriously ...? does anyone in rehab "do great" the first few days?

Also, why is Rob Ford's family so obsessed with his weight as being his most significant problem? Depending on who you believe Doug Ford bullied, or at least encouraged, Rob to do that stupid "Beat the Waste" challenge. When Rob first admitted using crack his mother and sister both said he just needed to lose a few pounds. And now Doug is saying "He says he is going to come back a few pounds lighter, so that is good." Your brother has a public meltdown fueled by alcohol and hard drugs and your hope is that he loses a few pounds?

Bizarre.

It's quantifiable.

He's still an alcoholic, homophobic misogynist... but look, he's dropped 20 pounds and is feeling great, so all is good.

I don't know where Mc Cheese the degenerate fucker is..

But I know where he is not. Rehab.

So, what? He gets down to Chicago and us customs refuse him entry into the us because of all the shit the fat man has pulled and he calls up Doug and says, "brother, grab the yellow pages and find me another rehab joint that will take me today, the Americans won't let me in"

I think it would be reasonable to demand his resignation if he was not at a legitimate rehab facility.
Most were demanding it after he was socializing with a drug gang, public intoxication, smoking crack (twice) yet he refuses and his name is still on the October ballot.

Here
Dollars to doughnuts he was told by US Immigration that if he did not withdraw his entry he would be denied... which leaves a record: sit transit gloria!

And everything considered, I don't believe for a moment that he could have entered a legitimate rehab facility on 6 hours notice. That is not how these things work!

Maybe the police will spend thousands more of our tax dollars trying to follow him. And then charge him with..............................nothing.
Shouldn't the police be doing more constructive things like planning for the next Toronto G20 Summit where they can beat up and detain innocent people again and get away with it?

Hopefully this time they catch him red handed and he gets sent to prison where he belongs. He has brought the office of the mayor and the city into disrepute by frequenting crack houses, hiring career criminals at city hall, and cavorting with violent street gangs.

He belongs behind bars.
