Boban Marjanović plays basketball for the Houston Rockets. He is 7’ 4” tall- he has been diagnosed with Gigantism- a disorder of the pituitary gland that causes him to be unusually tall. Should he be banned from the NBA?
WTF! Where do you come up with these wacko theories?

So you are saying Transgender people have a mental disorder?

If they are biologically female, why should they be banned?
Because your concern is supposedly about fairness (and not simply attacking the trans community, right?). According to you, athletes with abnormally high levels of testosterone in their bodies have an unfair advantage and should not be allowed to compete.

So…why do you discriminate between cisgendered women vs trans women. The only difference is in how the testosterone came to be in their respective bodies. Why are you attacking one group and not the other? Answer- you are a bigoted transphobe.

The End

What are you even talking about. Gigantism is not a mental disorder- it means your pituitary gland is stuck and is producing abnormally high levels of testosterone.

Again…for those in the back who were not paying attention…if your sole concern is about “fairness” in sports, anyone born with any sort of abnormal genetic advantage should be banned from competition…because you are not participating in this discussion solely for the purpose of bashing and marginalizing the trans community, right?

Gigantism occurs when growth hormone hypersecretion occurs before the fusion of the long bone epiphysis and is characterized by tall stature.

So GH not testosterone.

Why do we have women's sports in the first place? Why not allow anyone to try out and play?
Oh, OK, I see.
So...I'm against banning Lia Thomas in the olympics full stop. Instead I'm in favor of letting her try out for the mens team, just not the women's team.

So why wouldn't it be fair if a biological female compete against a biological female?

How can you determine is a woman is cisgender or not?

If you think the only difference between cisgendered women vs trans women is testosterone, boy I got some news for ya!!!

Do you believe Boban Marjanović has a disorder?

We don't see any biological women transitioning to be men competing in men's sports...Hmmm..Wonder why that is?

Of course maybe the soup crowd will want mandatory inclusion on sports teams in the future....I wouldn't put it past them.

Hasn't it already happened? A S. African woman. Semyana or something.
''

Although Semenya was assigned female at birth,[18][19] she has the intersex condition 5α-Reductase 2 deficiency (5-ARD).[10][11][18] This condition only affects genetic males with XY chromosomes. Individuals with 5-ARD have normal male internal structures that are not fully masculinised during the development of the reproductive system in utero, due to low levels of the hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT). As a result, the external genitalia may appear ambiguous or female at birth.[20][21][22]

Semenya has said that she was born with a vagina and internal undescended testes, but that she has no uterus or fallopian tubes and does not menstruate.[11][23][24] Her internal testes produce natural testosterone levels in the typical male range.[11][25] Semenya has rejected the label of "intersex", calling herself "a different kind of woman.''

Semyana did nothing to alter herself. This is extremely rare.

I dunno…I don’t think I’d call it a disorder unless it was causing some sort of harm or distress to him. Otherwise, I would call it “abnormal” insofar as it is different from the norm.

Same thing as the female athlete with the naturally occurring testosterone due to some sort of unusual medical condition.

Same thing as trans athletes. Their testosterone is produced naturally by their body. The only difference between trans athletes vs these other women is society’s bias and judgment against them.

I do remember when quotas were an issue someone arguing something along those lines.
I like women's sport. But I feel people forget why we have separate women's sport in the first place. Thus we have to start there.
And the stuff about hormone levels over the past year is nonsense if someone like Lia had 18+ years of testosterone fueled body development. No one is stopping her from trying out for the lads team so she's not being excluded.
