I moved to Whitby last May and haven't been able to find a fine dining restaurant I like. Please chime in.
I have tried Chatterpauls, Bella note, Brothers (the best), a Tavola, Amici, Avanti, Casa Verde, Mondo, the keg, etc.
My group had our Christmas dinner at the Brock House and it was just awful. They put their horse radish right in the middle of the Yorkshrire pudding thereby ruining the pudding and rushed us out.
Do you mean the Lakeside Restaurant south of Victoria on Brock? A fabulous client from Oshawa turned me on to it the other day and I dined there last night. It is classic Peruvian food with the emphasis on a lot of different fish dishes. I had halibut with a blueberry sauce that was out of this world. The service was impeccable and it had an unusual charm, classical music strumming in the background and big Peruvian murals on the walls. They had my fav wine, Reisling which a lot of restaurants don't carry and cappuccino after. i would rate it as a 4 star restaurant and it brightened my spirits about the area.
I just remembered a nice one I was at last summer between Oshawa and Courtice www.bistro238.com/
