What was Linux derived from? Not Unix ...... in common yes as does MS ... they all use txt files ... how is that?Yes and NO.
Even nibs when he is not shilling Mac admits Linux and OS X have more in common than with M$ which is a whole different bird.....
Even though they both use the same gcc Unix is written to standards and Linux is not .... the diversity may be good for some developers it can be a night mare for administration and management. That is one of many differences.

Actually, the only dodger around here is you, WP. The point is that you keep coming up with your so-called truths which have been overturned time and time again.
