So far I like my magic jack.........have it running on a 3 year old wireless router and it sounds great...........I have it hooked up to a 6G wireless phone and not troubles..........Twice I had a bad connection in @ 30 calls

I got vonage service for my parents about six months ago so they can call me anytime when I'm in Miami. They have complained about it a few times, even though it is a good service, but you are talking on their end you can hear a delay. So whatever you say there is a delay and it is repeated back to you. It makes it hard for a conversation.

Thanks, I will look into this further more.

I have a Magic Jack and it works well. The problem with VOIP is the same problem you have with the net in general. You are only as fast or as good as the slowest (weakest) connection. Land line service is the clearest and highest quality voice service you can get. Cell service is subject to geographical conditions. Residential VOIP is a solution in its infancy. VOIP for business is predicated on WAN and T1 or T3 technology. Neither of which you would have at home.

a friend ordered & recieved majic jack, he is thrilled with it, He called me and we talked for about 20 minutes, there were a few slight dropouts , almost like what you experience when someone is getting a call waiting beep, and his voice sounded sort of "MP3 ish" to me,poor tone and shrill, but admittedly, he was using a very inexpensive phone and that may be the culprit.

This appears to be an interesting product. Anyone know if there is any lag involved?

Like I said I have had mine for some time now and it works just like anyother VOIP for home use. Sent one to London with my daughter and the connection was great most of the time. Het internet there was slow. Mine I use WiFi at home and it works.

Look at it the way I did when I bought it..............The price was less than a decent dinner and includes service for a year. You will need a phone to connect to it..........I like using cordless phones and reccomend them.

At 20 bucks a year and it works makes it one of the best deals out there.

There was no lag when I was talking to my friend.

I'm convinced, I'm ordering very soon and will post when I try it.
